“Whatever you think of his policies, it should be undisputed that President Donald Trump continually displays bad character traits. He described himself as a king: arrogance. Awards have been won for tracking his lies: dishonest. He contradicts his own aides on everything from tariffs to military operations: impulsive. He claims that he deserves a Nobel Peace Prize since President Barack Obama has one: jealous. He paints all nonwhite immigrants as having bad intentions in coming to America: prejudiced. It is widely known by political leaders both foreign and domestic that the way to gain favor with Trump is showering him with praise: insecure. He has summarily fired over 50,000 federal workers, many of whom had no idea that their livelihoods were on the chopping block in the last election: inconsiderate.”

Good character should matter.
Trump is not a person of good character.

Trump is the example of the values the average trump voter lives by. If nothing else, they are the party of negativity. Wind farms, oh hell no, they're dangerous to our national security. Send troops to blue cities, oh yeah, can't wait to see it. Lock them up.

The gop has become a criminal organization.

Actually long before that. Donald has always been way short of decent character. That’s about the kindest thing to say about him.

It doesn't matter to Trumpers. It really doesn't.

The problem is he sets a bad example and people use that as justification for the erosion of our social fabric.

What's to stop a little boy in school from grabbing a little girl between the legs?

"If the president can do it then it's OK."

The good news (as we watch MAGAs become more and more like Trump every day) is MAGA has exposed themselves.

So the things that they said they were FOR or AGAINST (in the past) was complete bullshit.

Hell, just watch them as they try to explain away GIANT FEDERAL GOVERNMENT and as they protect pedophiles and as they support things like the GIANT FEDERAL GOVERNMENT taking a cut of capitalistic companies and as they don't even speak of a tyrannical government and how the 2A is there to protect us against it anymore.

I knew that a ton of them were horrible people starting back in the 1980s. And it wasn't all that hard to pick them out.

That is apparent.
What a sad time for our nation.
What a blight on our history.

I was told by an avid Trumper that character , values, integrity etc were of no imortance given the alternative was a Democrat.

My father and I had a big argument when I was a kid over the length of my hair. I remember saying I wanted to grow my hair the same length as the president of the US. As I recall, I won that argument.

One of the biggest problems in America, and this is apparent throughout the political spectrum, is people taking America for granted.

Oh, it was here when they were born so it will always be here and our democracy can take any amount of abuse, no problem.

Wrong. That is a big problem. We can lose this nation. We have to protect freedom. It is under attack. People call protecting freedom being 'far left.' That's bullshit. Freedom is freedom.

Big money has bought our government. Our government is corrupt. We do not have representation any more. We have pretend representation. Congress works for the billionaires. We have to face that fact and understand that we have the power to do something about it. We must act locally to pass non binding resolutions in support of the American Anti Corruption Act. We have to get the big money out of government. This is how we begin to do that. We have to pass these non-bonding resolutions all over the country. It has to go viral enough that new candidates come forward and ride that wave. Our goal must be to replace Congress with Anti Corruption candidates who run and win on the principle of actual representation; not big money. When that is done, the Act can pass and we will kick the big money out of our government. We, the people, have this power. We must use it.

We cannot wait for government or the media. We must take this initiative. We must form or join local left/right coalitions to get this done because it affects us all.

It is going to get worse before it gets better. We must commit to this goal and get it done. This is our calling. The founders had their calling. This is our calling. The founders built America. It is up to us to save America.

The choice is simple. Get involved or lose our country. Everything else aside - this is the most important issue.

It is actually more of a commentary on the American people.

There was a time in America that the slightest hint of scandal would end a politician's career. Thomas Eagleton comes to mind. In 1972, it was revealed that the U.S. senator and Democrat VP candidate had suffered from depression and had been treated by a psychiatrist. His had to resign the campaign. That was the end of his political career.

Decades later, the American people re-elected a president who had engaged in an illicit sexual affair in the White House and later lied about it under oath.

Fast forward a few more decades and the American people elected a political novice who was heard graphically describing his own sexual assaults on women.

Those same American people elected him to another term even after he was impeached TWICE, paid off a porn star for her silence in an illicit affair, and was found liable for sexual assault.

The American people ought to be ashamed of themselves. We once had a great country with great potential. Not any more, and it's the American people's own fault.

Much earlier than that.
If you're old enough to remember Trump and the Trump family of the 70s it is easy to see where Donald learned his flawed character and ethics.
Roy Cohn, a dirty mob lawyer who Trump called his friend and mentor, was only the beginning.

He's not really the first, just the most flagrant.

Libs got a lot of room to talk I guess. Not like they defended a guy who wore a tan suit & put dijon mustard on his burger. Hypocrites.

not any more, and it's the American people's own fault.

This is key for people who want to focus all of their attention on Trump.

Trump is a symptom of a larger problem.

The American people who have allowed this to happen.

It isnt a coincidence that Trump rose to the top at a time when more & more older people started joining social media. He's the embodiment of the toxic social media world - pure ****ing drama & stubborness.

It's more difficult for people to admit they were wrong, than to just pretend that they never supported something. Because everything is on an easily accessible digital record now, people dig their heels in extremely deeply.
