As if the coronovirus responses to Democratic primaries could not get crazier . . . Ohio broke a law to postpone its election hours before it was supposed to kick off.

This is not about Democrats. It is about the ingetrity of the most fundamental part of American citizenship: voting. Republicans should be mad too because it is not just a presidential election.

Voting is going on in Florida, with 81% of the precincts reporting, Biden 60%, Sanders 23%. Polls close in 5 minutes in Illinois.

Yeah, Georgia also postponed their primary from 24 Mar to 19 May. I don't know about the lawsuit in Ohio. I'm fine with postponing Georgia's. I suppose what goes on in Ohio is up to them.

The lawsuit will be heard in the Ohio Supreme Court.

At least Georgia's new primary date is before June.

Yeah, 19 May along with all other state and local offices. By the way, Biden declared the winner in Florida. Polls closed in Illinois with Biden ahead 64% to 28% with but one percent reporting. Biden has picked up 129 delegates in Florida to 48 for Sanders so far.

That was expected. It seemed like everyone predicted a Joe Biden blowout here.

What is interesting is while both Illinois and Florida have had polling place closure problems, I did not see any headlines about Arizona. Is that because of the time difference?

I haven't seen anything on Arizona. But you have two different time zones in Florida. Most of Florida on eastern time, the panhandle on central time. They run their elections from 7 to 7. But when most of Florida's polls are closed, those in the panhandle still have an hour to go. This always causes confusion.

I don't know anything about Illinois either. I know parts of Indiana are on different time zones also.

Only the northwest corner is in the Central time zone. Pensacola is on Eastern time.

Illinois was a huge mess.

The Coronavirus Outbreak Has Made Primary Voting In Illinois A Mess

LOL The irony is obvious. They close polling places because of coronavirus, but have nothing for sanitation where people can vote? Totally ridiculous. And moving out of nursing homes only to have old people work at polling places . . . good grief. I hope the state's health director looks into this nonsense.

The article says problems were happening statewide, not just in Cook County.
