The mainstream media blackout on this story will proceed in an inverse relationship to the amount of damaging information that comes out.

At the conclusion, when the most damning information of all is released, the MSM story will be that this has all been hashed over in the past and it's an annoyance to cover it again.
 
 
Just because one person posts 50 threads on the subject doesn't mean there is lots of people caring about it. Yes, you yell loud, but that does not mean there is a huge uproar about this. That really makes you more like the small child having a meltdown in a store. Yes, it is loud and everyone around hears it, but most are really around waiting for the child's parents to lose it and beat the crap out of their brat, and making comments about how stupid the child is.

Oh wait, I think I heard someone in Utah said benghazi you better post another thread.

I totally agree, some people cannot handle the truth that the US had weak security that was capitalized on by a bunch of terrorists in an unstable country.

Except no one was killed during the Watergate break in or during the cover up.

####, Nixon didn't even know about the break in until after it happened while Obama watched the live feed from an UAV that was above Benghazi while our consulate was under attack.

ABSOLUTELY! Clinton's 'I didn't have sexual relations with that woman', Bush's WMD assertion both infuriated me. Of course we don't know what EXACTLY happened and much is speculated but that is kinda the point. Is our intelligence arm so weak that we cannot figure out what happened 6 months later? One hopes and believes their leader is somewhat honest but unfortunately they are not which undermines government support. It certainly somewhat supports the recent poll where 27% think an armed uprising is in our near future.

US and Libya offer conflicting explanations over an attack on US Consulate in Benghazi last week. The ongoing anti-American demonstrations, caused by a film mocking Prophet Muhammed, claim lives across the Muslim world.

The deadly assault on a U.S. consulate in Libya was a spontaneous reaction to an anti-Muslim video, the U.S. ambassador to the U.N. said, even as Libya’s president insisted the attackers spent months preparing and carefully choosing their date -- the anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

But Ambassador Susan Rice said on Sept. 16 that evidence gathered so far shows no indication of a premeditated or coordinated strike. She said the attack in Benghazi, powered by mortars and rocket-propelled grenades, appeared to be a copycat of demonstrations that had erupted hours earlier outside the U.S. Embassy in Cairo.

Rice’s depiction of the chain of events contrasted with one offered by Libya’s Interim President Mohammed el-Megarif, who said on Sept. 16 there was no doubt the perpetrators had predetermined the date of the attack.

“It was planned, definitely. It was planned by foreigners, by people who entered the country a few months ago,” el-Megarif said. “And they were planning this criminal act since their arrival.” Meanwhile, Libya’s interior minister has sacked Benghazi security chiefs after the attack U.S. consulate last week.....snip~

Due to lax security and ignoring reports from his intelligence community GWB allowed the biggest US civilian death toll from a single attack on american soil on september 11th 2001. Of course, the right doesn't like blaming GWB for that but if Obama is this responsible for benghazi certainly GWB is that responsible for 9/11. Still benghazi didn't happen in the continental US, nor did we have control over the areas where it did happen like we did with 9/11, but that just makes 9/11 all the worse for george.

In another poll 99 percent of people who think an armed uprising is in our future are all talk. I would also love to ask, how often did you call for the truth to 9/11 to come out, and why are you not being as hard on good old george now that we know he ignored intelligence that pointed to the 9/11 attacks? It is not like benghazi where it was in a foreign country we had little control over and no budget for. nope, 9/11 was in america and actually got by a number of military facilities. So did you object to the cover up of 9/11 like you have with benghazi?

No mention that it was President Clinton's Attorney General Reno who put of the "wall" so the dots couldn't be connected.

If you actually read the 9/11 Commission Report, every President going back to Carter gets those same warnings every morning.

BTW: It was liberal political correctness that allowed the terrorist to board those planes on the morning of 9-11-01.

US Intel believes some Benghazi attackers tied to al Qaeda in Iraq.....

U.S. intelligence believes that assailants connected to al Qaeda in Iraq were among the core group that attacked the diplomatic mission in Benghazi, a U.S. government official told CNN.

That would represent the second al Qaeda affiliate associated with the deadly September 11 attack that killed U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.

Previously, intelligence officials said there were signs of connections to al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, the North African wing of the terror group.

The revelation that members of al Qaeda in Iraq are suspected of involvement in the Libya attack comes at a time when there is a growing number of fighters from that group also taking part in the Syrian civil war.

The weakened al Qaeda affiliate has had a resurgence in Iraq since U.S. forces left the country at the end of last year. The group had used Libya as a source for fighters. In a 2008 cable, Stevens described a nearby town of Derna as "a wellspring of Libyan foreign fighters" for al Qaeda in Iraq.

The latest intelligence suggests the core group of suspects from the first wave of the attack on the Benghazi mission numbered between 35 to 40. Around a dozen of the attackers are believed to be connected to either al Qaeda in Iraq or al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, the government official said.

According to the official, others in the core group are suspected of having ties to the Libyan group Ansar al-Sharia, and many of them are believed to be Egyptian jihadis.

And just two hours later, one of the e-mails indicated the Libyan extremist group Ansar al Sharia was claiming responsibility for the attack on social media websites. "Embassy Tripoli reports the group claimed responsibility on Facebook and Twitter and has called for an attack on Embassy Tripoli," the e-mail said.

Moreover, intelligence officials do not believe Ansar al-Sharia is solely responsible with indications now that some of the attackers were associated with al Qaeda in Iraq, al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb and an Egyptian jihad network.....snip~

If the AQAP members were dispatched to Benghazi, it would be further evidence of a new level of co-operation among jihadist groups throughout the Middle East and North Africa, counterterrorism analysts say.

According to one source, counterterrorism officials learned the identity of the men and established they had spent two nights in Benghazi after the attack. Western intelligence agencies began trying to track the men in the aftermath of the terrorist attack, but were always behind in their manhunt.

They were later traced to northern Mali, where they are believed to have connected with a fighting group commanded by Moktar Belmoktar, a prominent jihadist leader, according to a senior law enforcement source.

The trail appears to have then gone cold. In early 2013, jihadists were driven out of many areas of northern Mali in a French-led offensive......snip~
 
AQAP is regarded as one of the most active and dangerous of al Qaeda franchises. It has tried to launch several attacks on the U.S. homeland. On Christmas Day 2009, a Nigerian recruited by the group attempted to blow up a plane flying into Detroit but failed because his device malfunctioned. The following October the group attempted to blow up planes heading to the United States with printer bombs disguised as air cargo. The packages were intercepted after a tip from Saudi intelligence. And in April 2012, a British informant working for Saudi counterterrorism thwarted a new plot by the group to bomb a U.S-bound airliner. The informant had infiltrated the group and was selected by them to launch the attack.

AQAP was the first al Qaeda affiliate to comment on the Benghazi attack. On September 14 it released a statement arguing the attack was revenge for the death of Abu Yahya al-Libi, a senior al Qaeda operative, in Pakistan in June 2012. It did not claim responsibility for the attack.

On September 10 -- at least 18 hours before the attack -- al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri, in a video timed for the anniversary of 9/11, called for attacks on Americans in Libya to avenge the death of al-Libi.

In December, a U.S. official with direct knowledge of the investigation said authorities were examining whether the alleged leader of a post-revolution terrorist network in Egypt had played a role in the September 11 attack. Mohammed Jamal Abu Ahmed was released from jail after the downfall of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and is believed to be the driving force behind a new militant group, according to two U.S. officials.

In the wake of the revolts that have shaken the Arab world, al Qaeda sympathizers have found new space in which to operate, and would-be jihadists have found new causes to embrace. In Syria, the al-Nusra Front has proclaimed its links to the al Qaeda affiliate in Iraq. Militants from Tunisia, Libya and elsewhere have gone to Syria. In west Africa, Nigerian jihadists with Boko Haram have established links with al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb and trained in Mali.

If AQAP sent members thousands of miles to help launch an attack on U.S. diplomats, it would show that even if al Qaeda central remains under pressure, its fellow travelers are finding new ways to continue its campaign of terror.....snip~
