The murk surrounding Donald Trump’s likely whereabouts on his last day as president has thickened considerably with news that an official plane he has used in the past is due to fly to Scotland the day before Joe Biden’s inauguration.

Trump himself is sticking to his refusal to accept his decisive electoral defeat. He has been caught cajoling election officials to “find” thousands of extra votes and is encouraging his supporters to gather for a “wild” day of protest on Wednesday when Congress is due to ratify the result.


The White House has refused to say what he will do when Biden is inaugurated on 20 January, raising the question of whether Trump will even leave the building voluntarily.

Most Trump-watchers expect him to dodge any event that would involve acknowledging his election loss. They predict he will stage a spectacular diversion to detract from Biden’s first day on the job.

Many versions of that scenario have the outgoing president flying to his private club in Florida, Mar-a-Lago. But Scotland’s Sunday Post has reported that Prestwick airport, near Trump’s Turnberry golf course resort, has been told to expect a US military Boeing 757 that has occasionally been used by Trump, on 19 January.

So this makes me think that Trump may just rile up his base, and then leave. Let them go crazy but he's out of the country.

I'm fine with it actually... Hell, I will even chip a little if anybody objects to the cost of one last plane ride on the taxpayers...

Maybe Biden's first act as President will be ordering US 1 to fly back here empty and leave his ass stuck there.
I think that would be funny
Trump stuck there and will have to take a commercial plane back

It actually might be useful to have him out of the country... Twitter can ban him after the inevitable TOS violation for regular users... I kind of like this plan...

That could be seeing he knows NY is after him and now GA may try to get him for the election stuff

Once there he has to self isolate for 10 days. Wonder how that would go down? After all he will be Joe private citizen. I wonder if his golf course is even open given the new lockdown orders in Scotland....that would tick him off!

he's either going to play golf or this story is just noise. he isn't going to flee the country. someone entered the Konami cheat code at his birth, and he has been on invincibility mode ever since. my guess is that he skates on everything, as i've said previously.

Without Trumps personal belongings that he wants to rip off while he's in scottland to use the plane for personal use.
 

If the guy thinks Scotland in January is a good place to be, well I thought Trump showed particularly good judgement. Of course, the plane is no longer his after noon on the 20th, so I hope he has made other travel arrangements to leave Scotland.

Who else might order Air Force 2 to fly to Scotland on 19 January? For those who don't know, Air Force 1 is a 747.
