Is that a video or just an animated gif.
I can't tell.
The cop walks up behind someone doing nothing but.......walking.....pistol whips him accidentally firing his weapon......and the video.....and the video doesn't tell enough of the story????????
Okay.
It doesn't say anything about what happened prior.
The video posted hints at something happening prior because there was a mention of him and a friend being at a gas station and the friend getting detained......
I've never seen one of these things done by the "alleged criminal" in which the person ever admitted to doing anything except "minding their own business".
But the officer was wrong for hitting someone in the head with his gun, period.
It was an off duty cop who saw a young black man late at night who had done nothing wrong. The only reason he was in jail is because the cop lied and said Dorm tried to grab his gun.
Watch the video and it is obvious he didnt 'just walk'. They had been running. dood gave up, turned around, and thats when the cop clocked him. Nothing excuses the cops actions but I doubt the 3 second clip shows what has actually happened. The cop walks up behind someone doing nothing but.......walking.....pistol whips him accidentally firing his weapon......and the video.....and the video doesn't tell enough of the story????????

There is obviously more to it than that... even the video suggests such.
Watch the video again. It shows a man obviously exhausted and turning around. You are talking a 3 second video clip and think that you have the whole picture. Where is his friend? Where is the store? Within seconds? Shouldnt they all have been in the same spot? I dont know what happened based on the video clip beyond this...it was the end of some sort of pursuit, and the police officer hit him, inappropriately, with his weapon which then discharged (hence the "nothing excuses the cops actions" comment).Who had been running?
Some people aren't happy unless they can convict a black guy for walking while black.

Uhm Im confused
the cop may have very well been guilty of many things, I cant comment on that
but what does this video clip alone prove?

again just an assumption but I agree it totally looks like the end of a pursuit for sure
and I agree "procedure" wise no excuse to hit the guy with a gun
BUT "personally" I admit if the crime was armed robbery and shots were fired or during the pursuit shots were fired or he already faought the officers once id be alot less likely to care or blame the officer, may main concern would be it dangerous to use the gun because it could go off, which it did, not because he hit him
but also on the otherside of that, if nothing happened, they just caught up to a guy running then this cop has some serious issues
The cop's weapon discharged. In order to explain it the cop claim Dorm assaulted him and tried to take his gun. The video proves Dorm never made a move and was walking when the cop came up behind him and pistol whipped him, accidentally firing at the same time.
There was no crime.
There was no robbery.
He was not running from the cop.
There were no shots fired before the cop pistol whipped him.
Dorm never made a threatening move.
Dorm didn't commit any crime.
What makes it look like it was the end of a pursuit?
But the officer was wrong for hitting someone in the head with his gun, period.
the person was definitely running or jogging? from who? dont know, but it definitely COULD have been from the cops
as for the rest the video doesnt prove any of that, other facts might prove that but not the video
I've already posted the contents of what transpired and Dorm was not running from them. He only turned around because he heard their footsteps.
So what from the video made it look like the end of a "pursuit?"
again didnt read any testimony etc i was asking what the video proves?
unless the officer specifically said the weapon discharged when he tried to take it the video doesnt prove or disprove the statement above.
also the video does not prove he was "walking".
again I didnt read anything so if there is conflicts witht the story VS the video then that means something.
But if I only watch the video and am asked what do I see, I see giving up on running, turning around and getting clocked in the head by a gun that goes of.
based on the video alone I know nothing else and would only say the cop shouldnt have hit him with a gun because thats the danger, it going off.
now if the video contradicts statements thats different.
