Oddly, Pete Hegseth's "Kafir" tattoo sparks charges of Islamophobia!

A kafir is an unbeliever in Islam. It's at once a pejorative, an accusation, a denunciation, a condemnation, a possible lynching. Its baaaaaad, but not as bad as an apostate to Islam. An apostate from Islam automatically qualifies for a one way trip to the gallows. An unbeliever can get away with paying special taxes.

So Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth tattooes "kafir" on his arm, what is wrong with that? He is a kafir. One who chooses to wear his epithet proudly on his arms. How come he is the one accused of Islamophobia when "kafir" use by Moslems is in the context of hostility against non Moslems? It's bizarre and odd accusation. It's like accusing some black man who tattoos the "n" word on his biceps of racism.

Takfir is a Muslim declaring another an apostate. Kafir is just an unbeliever. Odd he has Islamic terms as tats. But this is the same guy who has the Jerusalem cross on his chest. It's just tats. they have no stated meanings by simply wearing them

I thought the K word was spelled with a double f in South Africa.

A slur when used by white S Africans to describe Blacks, the name has also stuck to several South African plants that are grown in U.S. Popular here in Los Angeles is clivia miniata also known as the k lily. I use the latin name when referring to the plant.

Taken as a whole I find it hard to accept the suggestion that he's "simply wearing them." Like many far-right types this dude's got a serious hard on for the Crusades and yes, this is concerning given his role in shaping US military policies.

Yes, the k-word is with a double F, but it is the same word, though it’s really only a slur in English and Afrikaans.
