‘I love Hitler’: Leaked messages expose Young Republicans’ racist chat

The defense gets dumber and dumber.

"Our young NAZI's pose no threat to US democracy if we keep their conversations private....."

Why is that dumb? It was just a private conversation that involved people saying horribly racist things and making offensive jokes. They didn't make any threats toward anyone.

Jay Jones specifically named people that he was threatening, and you had no problem with that.

My question was what did it reveal about the man himself?

That he knew he could get away with whatever terrible thing he said. He knew he had texted the wrong person and that the person was a Republican, and yet he STILL continued to proceed in saying all those things about wanting a colleague and his children to die.

He knew he would face no consequences, even after openly saying those things to his opposition. That's what it reveals about him.

Regardless of your baseless and overgeneralized claims here, the fact is that a massive number of people on the right immediately demonstrated zero tolerance for the conduct of those involved, disavowed their actions publicly, and fired people over it.

The left doesn’t do that. They defend the worst crazies on their side and allow them to keep their positions of power, just like the case of Jay Jones.
Too bad the Vice president isn't one of those people.

That is not an answer to what it says about the man himself. That he got away with it doesn’t mean that he knew he could get away with it. What do his words tell us about the man and his values?

Good thing that the offenders were immediately disavowed by Republicans and conservatives and lost their jobs over it.

The left could learn a few things from them about taking swift and stern actions against horrible people on their own side.

I have a question. It's the same question I always ask when it is discovered that a cop has been planting evidence. Did nobody notice before the guy was caught?

I have a hard time believing that these fellows once they moved from the Young Republicans just sat quietly and never offered any sort of comment or opinion about minorities that revealed what they truly believed. It's hard to hide your hatred. Like the cop who screamed bring it you ****ing animals to the crowds. It's hard to hide your hatred.

So am I expected to believe that these fellows didn't say a single thing to anyone before they were outed? Am I to believe that these folks were the very epitome of tolerance as far as anyone could tell? No other chat groups that they belonged to with old and new friends where they discussed the same sort of things? That seems a little unlikely wouldn't you say?

Oh, look how ignorant and cynical your posts can get!
You guys are not really trying very hard, your heart just is not in it.

I'm just following your guys' lead on this. I've chosen to apply the same standards that you applied to the Jay Jones situation. Why is it cynical or dumb to follow your lead? Are you calling your own approach "ignorant," "cynical," and "dumb" now?

iu

They still aren’t.

The frog poses no threat to anyone if he is saying horrible things but not making threats.

The frog isn't the threat. The frog is facing the threat.

"The "boiling frog" is a widely used metaphor describing a situation where a person or group fails to react to gradual, incremental changes that eventually lead to a catastrophic outcome, often because the changes are too subtle to notice at first. The story posits that if a frog is placed in boiling water, it will immediately jump out due to the sudden shock, but if placed in tepid water that is heated slowly, it will not perceive the danger and will be cooked to death. This metaphor is frequently invoked to illustrate issues like climate change, the erosion of civil liberties, or the slow decline of personal well-being, warning against the dangers of creeping normality or "creeping change"."

Because the fact that they were said in a private conversation poses no threat to anyone. Privately saying things, even if they are horrible things, doesn't equate to someone posing a threat to anyone else.
That's LITERALLY what the KKK did in private conversations first.

That's LITERALLY what the Nazis did in private conversations first.

Not saying the Young Republicans are gonna kill anyone but the private conversations among racists is where all the bad shit LITERALLY starts.

Wow

Sure sure. Yet these people, in the MAGA movement and the broader conservative movement, tout the superiority of Western values over Muslims and others. And when they say Western values, they mean white values. We see them.

Well, that’s them. When I say “western values,” I mean “western values,” including those that emerged from the Enlightenment, such as separation of church and state. In most Muslim countries, no such distinction is made. I think the western ideas are better. So call me a cultural chauvinist if you want, but race has nothing to do with it. Only racists think like that.

What if a person tells Bob in private, "Jill deserves two bullets to the skull over Evil Thing 1 and Evil Thing 2"

A peculiar duality of your ideology though, this is the opposite of your take on that Dem senator.

More interesting to witness than some dig, I don't much care because at least we agree. This message posed no threat nor needed to be apologized over.

I'm not voting for Jay Jones. I am not donating to his campaign. I am donating to other campaigns. Not his. What else should I do? Abandon all Democrats because of one idiot? Quick question. When Trump was shown to be totally Racist, we were told it was a long time ago and nothing should be read into it. When Hegseth was sidelined in the Army for Racist behavior and Tattoo's we were told it was just people who didn't like him and he wasn't racist at all. Sure he fired all the Minorities as soon as he was in charge, but that was just DEI. The list keeps going on and on and on everywhere we look. And we are constantly told it isn't a problem.

Today, Republicans are arguing to the supreme court that Minority Protections under the 14th Amendment and Voting Rights Act are unconstitutional. Black Republicans can't get elected in Republican Districts. But hey, the Republicans aren't racist. Trust us. We would know if they were racist. We love Minorities. You can tell by how many we don't hire.

Black Medal of Honor winners were scrubbed from websites. The Republicans aren't racist. Women who did amazing things are scrubbed from history on official websites. We aren't sexist either the Republicans scream. You guys keep insisting that you aren't racist while doing all sorts of things that make sense only if you are motivated by Racism.

If Mandani isnt a communist, how do you explain this?
reading is FUNdamental!!!

Zohran Mamdani, a self-described democratic socialist

His affinity for socialist ideals often led to him being branded a communist by his rivals.

ohhh, so it's you and your ilk that brand him a communist. That explains it all.
