Obama to propose 'grand bargain' on corporate tax rate, infrastructure

Yeah; but obviously we didn't. So now what? Solve it some way? Whine about it? What's your preferred?

Do you honestly think that I'm going to go back, google the information, which you can easily do, and then have you go off on one of your nonsensical liberal professor rants? If you do, you are even more of a nut than I thought you were. Is it possible that if these scholars rank him higher than you do, that maybe your analysis is wrong? I just finished exchanging posts with another con clown on global warming ... he, not a scientist, believed that he knew the science better than the vast majority of scientists who study this ... there's no arguing with you clowns, and in fact, I doubt that I'll post much longer - you guys take the joy out of it, you really do, with your anti-science, anti-intellectualism ... Asimov was thinking of you when he said the following:

“Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'”

― Isaac Asimov

Are con clowns any more irrelevant than prog clowns? Good afternoon bj...

No credible historian is going to judge Obama and put him 15th after one term in office and the economic numbers he has generated. Calling us "clowns" is nothing more than name calling which is all you can do. You want to get booted from the forum? Keep it up. Cite your source or retract your claim

It's disturbing

Obama is the worst President in American History. Just judging from a Constitutional perspective, (NSA wiretapping, using government institutions to harass and intimidate political opposition, ect) Obama is the worst. Economically. The Worst. The IRS scandal is only the beginning. If the Obama regime will use the IRS to target and intimidate conservatives, then what's stopping him from using Obamacare to target registered Republicans? Need medical care but are a registered Republican? Sorry, we don't have the money for that right now. Need the EPA to approve a contract and you're a registered Republican? Sorry, but we're going to delay the contract years and years.

Obama is setting up a database where he knows everything about you. It will all be stored and follow you everywhere you go. Liberals on these message boards actually support this man as some kind of Hope and Change messiah.

my unbiased opinion is that neither is relevant, but the con clowns are much worse ... good day to you AP ...

If they're both not relevant, then saying one is worse than the other isn't logical...

BINGO! Even when I called it you couldn't help yourself, could you? And with a threat to boot! Now, go google "presidential scholars rate Obama 15th" (go to google.com and in the box type in what I just told you to type in - cons have to stop expecting others to do their work - you may be mad at me now, but you'll thank me later) ... but, like you, I'm curious where he'll be after his second term ... personally, I'd drop him a notch or two, and remember, most of our presidents have not been very good, so 15 is relative anyway ...

meanwhile I'll try to find another way of telling you guys that you will not be taken seriously posting the I hate Obama stuff you post, instead of calling you clowns. Sorry if I hurt your feelings.

Two people can be skinny, but one can be skinnier ... you and I can be intelligent, but you could be more intelligent ... no, that's not a good example - it has to be believable ... stick with the first example ... :rock

It cuts deductions. Thats why I oppose it. This bill will hurt small business.

Greetings, apdst. :2wave:

:agreed: This will hurt small businesses! I remember when credit card interest, car loans and other loans were allowed to be deducted on your personal tax filing every April. I don't recall why the IRS stopped allowing this, but it must have a bonanza for the credit card companies since they soon raised their rates. There were many articles in magazines advising people to pay their credit card charges in total every month to avoid paying the higher interest rates. This was all well and good advice, unless you had recently bought high ticket items during a home renovation! The same lack of deductions is not good news for small businesses, if they are currently using credit cards to pay their bills, IMO.

When you make each irrelevant, there is nowhere else to go. BTW, the "rock" doesn't suit you very well...

The dis-allowance of CC interest deduction along with many other deductions was a part of Reagan's tax reform.

Good evening pg...

A grand bargain? For whom? The corporations? How 'bout we start by eliminating deductions and exemptions for the 66% of American corporations and 68% of foreign corporations which have no tax liability under the existing code.

Cool. And thanks for keeping me safe. And hope you enjoy our collective thanks in form of GI benefits, on top of the pay, food, clothing and housing.

Beats flipping burgers.

I earned every bit of it. Thetein lies the difference.

No true. Obama pushed for a 2 year extension on Bush 43's temporary (had a sunset clause) tax cuts, and it merely was allowed to time-out, finally, and years too late, returning to Clinton tax rates.

Don't be ridiculous.

Yes true. In December Obama pushed for an extension of ONLY the middle class tax cuts. Which means tax rates went up on the rich. In addition Obamacare includes new taxes on specifically the wealthy. You cant really claim that he isnt constantly pushing for more taxes on the rich. Thats exactly what this grand bargain is about, more taxes from rich corporations.

I assume that is what this proposition is all about.

I say we eliminate all deductions for all businesses. And then lower the tax rate to 0. There is no point in taxing businesses as they just collect the tax from consumers. Skip the middle man.

Heres the official plan from whitehouse.gov

Notice that it leaves out any details including how it would eliminate deductions effectively increasing taxes, specifically on large corps. That its a rehash of his usual stimulus proposal is obvious. More roads, which create 0 permanent jobs, more solar funding, more wage controls for the less than 1% of people who even make mininum wage. If he wants to get something done he should try walking over to Congress and talking to them, not campaigning.
