once protected you can't use motor vehicles on the land or any other type of vehicle. so BP trying to chase down illegals don't be able to enter with their trucks and other vehicles.
he doesn't care about anything.
he wants to turn the US into a 3rd world country.
How Obama Thinks - Forbes
I've read the same thing about vehicles not being allowed ..... hopefully they can shore up the law enforcement issues before it gets out of hand.
I don't believe he wants this to be a 3rd world country... frustration borne hyperbole is very rarely accurate, if ever.
yep which is why obama has not deported any of them. once they are hear they get full legal protection when they should be put back on a plane shipped back to their home country and the bill sent to their country for the cost.
this is a disaster and all of them are stating the reason they are coming here in droves is because they can get amnesty that obama keeps going on and on about.
no other president declared a monument on our border that allows illegals to cross and doesn't allow BP to do it's job.
unless the president gives authorization CBP can't enter the area nor can any other law enforcment agency.
That law is Terrible. Another fed land grab for ego and politics
Besides the obvious BS that this is causing...has any other President unilaterally made something "national monuments"?
well, i know quite a few native Americans.. and they all would agree that we pretty much robbed them of their lands... and i would agree as well.he is an anti-colonialist. he thinks america got the way that it did by robbing other countries and people.
that is why he gave like 300m dollars to brazil to drill oil but won't approve a pipeline here in america.
to garner more present and future votes, primarily.why else do you allow a flood of no skill workers amensty into this country?
your talking about legal immigration regulations... which, by definition, don't apply to illegal immigrants.when elis island was still open if you didn't have a skill of some kind you weren't allowed to enter. why? you had to be able to work and find a job.
for the most part, he's just going along with his voter base.the fact that obama consistantly ignores our immigration laws says it all.
Bush's declaration ended much commercial fishing in this monument, larger than all monuments ever created combined!!!! Had Obama done this, he would have been accused of hurting commerce. But partisan republicans had no complaint. I don't either, I'm glad Bush, fed up with congressional bull **** went around them and preserved this awesome place, and that Jean Cousteau succeeded in convincing the president of its importance!
congress is not needed to declare national monuments..... nobody is going around congress on this... not Bush, not Obama.. not any President since Teddy.
as an aside, Tu Quoque fallacies make for poor arguments
Im all for repealing pretty much all federal land control, revisiting each on a case by case basis and hammering the presidential ability to do this.National monuments are typically created on lands already owned by the public. You for reversing all national monuments and allowing development to those lands?

CBP maintains that this will have no effect on border security!
“This designation will in no way limit our ability to perform our important border security mission, and in fact provides important flexibility as we work to meet this ongoing priority,” said spokeswoman Jenny Burke. “CBP is committed to continuing to work closely with the Department of the Interior and the U.S. Forest Service to maintain border security while ensuring the protection of the environment along the border.”

Gotta blame that damn republican Roosevelt for setting a precedent since used by democratic and republican presidents alike.
the state, if they sue, will lose.
Like i said, I wasnt making that argument. But it doesnt matter what party he is. The states never gave the govt the power to nationalize land for the purposes of preserving antiquities. Not everyone here is a partisan.
The state, if they sue, will win. Happy Blanket Claim Day!

It was this to which I referred to with regards to congresses failure to act.
This Article is the first to explore an alternate means to modify and protect existing national marine sanctuaries when Congress fails to to do so. The 1972 National Marine Sanctuaries Act is the only federal legislation that provides for the designation of large-scale ocean areas for long-term protection and management. For nearly thirty years, it was customary for Congress to reauthorize the Act to meet the increasingly complex regulatory and stakeholder needs of sanctuary management—until now. Congress has not reauthorized the Act since 2000, and a pall of uncertainty has been cast over the National Marine Sanctuaries Program. The most pressing need for national marine sanctuaries is the development of a resourceful way to achieve conservation objectives despite this congressional inaction. The Antiquities Act, a century-old statute providing for the declaration of national monuments (which has been applied almost exclusively to dry land) may provide a useful tool to help maintain existing national marine sanctuaries until Congress is able to reauthorize the National Marine Sanctuaries Act.

Well then Monte.....its time to talk to Mexico and play a little hardball. Cut off the flow from the opening.
CPB HAS ALREADY STATED that this will not restrict their border security in the are. It's in the post you quoted.
unfortunately for you.. I have the backing of long held law to base my claim on.
I have a US house member that says otherwise. unless there is an exception written into the order they will not have access.
many people are already questioning and the house is urging the president to give them permission to do so.
