I think the media on the whole has been well to lax at doing its job. They are our tool to gauge the actions and behaviors of the government so that we may better control it. It has been far too lazy and far too partisan as of late.

Media isnt supposed to control politics.. Strong political institutions and foundations should take care of this, and complicated political structures..

But media yes should also report, but not be as intimately involved in politics as it is now, more separated.

Example:The media attacked Sarah Palin for what the RNC spent on her campaign wardrobe. Why not include what Nancy Pelosi is given or Hillary by the dems just to either make Palin's budget appear outrageous or make it appear same ol story about what both sides spend?

Because Pelosi and Hilary was not trying to promote themselves as frugal cost cutting warriors.

And like it or not, her 150k+ wardrobe is no better than having the directors of the 3 auto makers fly in private planes to Washington to ask for handouts.

It is alarming how MSNBC and segmants of CNN are on their knees to Obama. I cannot recall such worship, not even for JFK. This latest scandal on Obama in Illinois was a topic this morning and the CNN host said "let's get off that subject" when a caller insinuated Obama was linked to the governor. MSNBC starts off the Keith Oberman show with "only XX days before the inauguration of Barrack Obama". What is that?! All koodos to Obama for winning but let's not lose sight of what he is instead of creating a diety or apostle. If I were a paranoid liberal I would scream all this hype is a sham to build him up just to humiliate him when he actually takes office and gets whacked with the reality of what he faces.
If the media now is left versus right then that will eventually lead to (and probaly already is) an all out war to gain control of communication. Then what? I don't take Oberman or Limbaugh seriously but millions do not share my opinion here and that could lead to dangerous waters.
For those of you who pay special attention to rhetoric concentrate on the choice of words from here on in describing Obama's enemies and friends. Pay special attention to the inauguration. I hereby GUARANTEE everyone it will be flooded with savior-like praise. Be careful America we don't need Joseph Goebles in our newsrooms.

The scandal isn't an Obama scandal regardless of how much republicans want it to be. You're just angry that the media is no longer giving repubs worship time for their celeb, Sarah.

Sovereignty, what are you talking about? The nations in the EU have sovereignty but are willingly participants in a great political cooperation in certain areas of their policies.

You don't defend yourselves. This is why your nations are not fighting back against the EU's attempts to backdoor an EU Constitution via the treaty process. This is why your nation's are abandoning your individual national identities because being Italian or French is so...so nationalistic. This is why your nation's are committing national suicide by abandoning assimilation policies, elevating personal gratification above child-rearing, and relying on immigration to resolve the coming demographic crisis.

You're not defending yourselves. You've all but signed national suicide pacts to avoid giving offense to, well, someone.

Willingly? Is this why after some nations explicityl voted "No" on the EU Constitution that the EU elite are going to impose that Constitution via the treaty process? The ultimate end of the EU is erase national boundaries, to bound nations together no matter they individual national interests. Who are you kiddng?

There is no point in responding to you anyways, you don't listen and all your answers are trolling and name calling.
I could debate the Lisbon treaty in lenght, even give my opinion on the process which is quite negative, but I will not. I prefer to just comment one thing... There is no demographic crisis.. A declining population would be a blessing.
In America maybe not, but in Europe, yes..
All of Europe(the continent) is the same size as the US but have 750 million people compared with your 300 million people. We hardly need more, rather less.
We dont need more young people to take care of the elderly, we just need a better way to do it with less people.


Besides all this, the majority of people are idiots, not just in America, but across the world, including Europe.

I dont really mind Obama tbh, but it was pretty embarassing watching how far the media went in protecting the guy and building him up into some sort of icon.

Take for example the Bosnia story with Clinton, when the media found out that she was lying they didn't hesitate jumping on the chance to discredit her because of it.

Now take a look at Obama's lie on Memorial Day, when he claimed that his uncle had been a part of the liberation of Auschwitz. Of course we know that there were no Americans at Auschwitz's liberation, but that really isnt what gets to me. The problem lies in the fact that this was the second time he had stated such a thing. And of course the media didnt see a reason to criticize the guy for it.

Again, I dont really care, maybe the media's got the right idea and Obama really is a god. :roll:

Ever since the end of the 80's, the media has always been siding with the "segregated race". I'm not racist at all, i would just like to make it clear that racism is not nearly as frequent as it was 50 years ago, but people WANT to believe it is so they can get some sympathy and be adored by their struggle.

Did you know that a few years ago at a scientific convention, somebody stepped up and yelled at one of the speakers for saying "black hole"? They called it racially insinsitive. At a football game down in texas a few months ago, a bannana and a monkey ran across the field as a senior prank. The day after, a swarm of people went to the distict and wanted to sue them because they said "the bannana was chasing the monkey!" and believed it to be a racial slurr.

The media these days is only focused on selling newspapers so they will make up anything as a "racial slurr" so when an african american president (i cant say black anymore because it is apparentely racialy insinsitive) runs, the media will invest everything into him in order to gain respect of their readers. What sickens me is that since the media has invested so much into him, if he screws up the country they wont say anything about it!
