The ****ed up photo-op aside, let's look at the sick mindset in its own right. Why would a septuagenarian want to spend his final days on this planet destroying the majestic creatures still living on in it? IIRC, Scalia dropped dead while hunting big game in a fenced in yard. So, it must be a RW thing.

Anyone?

Well, I know this. If all gunners are as heartless and destructive as this SOB, I can certainly see why people want to take them out of their murderous hands.

It is a mental illness, these people deserve help
 
Apart from necessary culls in certain areas (yes, the necessity is contingent on human settlement, I know), people who take pleasure in killing animals can rot in hell. I hope the animal wins.

That said, after living four years in NJ some decades ago, I'll say this: if you kill a dear and you didn't torture it, that's a cull.

i look at exotic animal hunters the same way i look at kids who torture strays. they need to be institutionalized and most likely heavily medicated, IMO.

As you know I am a hunter however I've never been a real trophy Hunter I'm more of a freezer Hunter. A couple small deer taste better than one big one.
I've never had a desire to hunt africa, I have friends that have and I just don't see the thrill

They sit in a blind all day in the heat next to a small water source (generally the only one within miles) and watch animals come and go all day until they pick one to shoot.

They actually pay per animal.

That being said I'm also a butcher and I would love the challenge of skinning and tanning an elephant, but only if the meat was used and not waste
I also really like ivory, I love the old tusk carvings...

When my great grandfather died we tore up a piano in his basement. We did not even notice the keys were ivory and threw them away.
It would be nice to have a renewable source of ivory.

But I digress, I am currently opposed to elephant hunting , (even though I have sold guns for that exact purpose)...
