Not Pursuing "hate crimes" in Sarah Palin Church Attack

Her church would be, however. After all, aside from random vandalism, is it possible to attack a church without it being a form of religious discrimination?

Given that it's Palin's chuch I'm assuming that the 'Palin' part was getting attacked rather than the 'church' part. I could be entirely wrong, of course, but it's the assumption I'm working with

If not a hate crime or an overheated electrical receptacle the cause of the fire, maybe somebody was smoking inside or somebody lighted a candle.

I am tempted to create a conspiracy theory that the fire was deliberated to burn out documents, films, or pictures which may compromise negatively to Palin. :doh

Oh Noes!!1! The "radical homosexuals" are going to destroy our country.

Yeah but the fact that the attack happened at the Church says a great deal to me about what these people hate about Palin and, by association, her church. Assuming it was an attack at all.

It tells me a great deal about what this person hates about Palin. That's about it

Assuming it was an attack at all.

I could swear that I read that investigators found an accelerant, which would clearly indicate arson. I've been on pain pills all day, though, so don't take my word on it

Yeah, you read it. There was an accelerant found around the door. That doesn't conclude to me that it was an attack. It still could have been some stupid prank. Kids get out of control up there sometimes in the middle of winter when there is nothing for them to do.

I am going to withhold judgment about motives for now. But if it was an attack based on political motivations or hatred of the religious beliefs, come down with every penalty the law can throw at them.

Very good point. I was contrasting arson with a naturally caused fire (bad wiring etc) rather than with an accident during an intentional action

Me too, I'll hold off until they find a motive (if it was arson), or at the very least a suspect

No most states do not allow gay marriage. The only ones that do were made that way by judges who are probably going to be overturned anyway. People dont go for this stuff and the radical angry gays can't stand it, so I guess there will be more church invasions by the angry gays.

The special rights and thought control equals civil rights propaganda piece of the radical homosexuals breathed its last breath when minorities voted down the anti-marriage agenda again.

For groups that got themselves used to forcing themselves and their opinions into other people's lives it is hard for them to accept that people don't want to take the intentional agitation anymore.

The fact that most states do not allow gay marriage arises from the fact that marriage licenses were first introduced to "keep the races from mixing". When our forefathers got married, they did not seek permission from the State. They just did it. Gays should just do it too, as well as give a big, fat middle finger to the State as they do so. It is none of the government's damn business.
