north Korea walls itself in

As the majority of their "border" is facing water on the east and west I am sort of not catching that use of the vocabulary "walling" AND if you are using that figuratively, this is hardly news that should surprise anyone, as they have been keeping folks in and keeping folks out even before the most recent top fella was born. In fact I had a colleague that was killed for inadvertently crossing their border. Well, the whole crew, but one.

AND they are very good at tunnels under the DMZ, so we could do the same, if we wished.

So what have we got in this case that has somebody all interested in the DPRK?

MAGA Kim is building Trump's wall in Korea.

It's a buffer zone. A combat zone. There is no way at all that buffer zone can be compared with even the former "wall" the USSR built in Germany. There are machine gun nests on both sides of the buffer and all are locked and loaded. Even in that area where the border guards come face-to-face all have loaded weapons. Towers with rapid fire systems and likely other weapons systems that are even worse than simply rapid fire. Truth is, I don't think there is any sort of border like that anywhere else on Earth. Used to be regular recon flights and the escorts for those, but I am not so sure about these days. Used to run RF4 flights routinely, but I am not sure how that is working these days because now there are all those systems above the Earth's atmosphere that do really good recon; nothing like we had back a few decades or so ago. Sometimes there are armed conflicts on the seas, especially on the west side. Bluntly putting it, it is a very, very nasty environment. An environment meant for one purpose; killing. Comparing that to any sort of civilian type wall structure is just plain nonsense. But understandable, if you have never worked that buffer zone. It isn't something your average civilian could comprehend.

And using "MAGA" in an adjective mode for any of the ruling Kim family members is also pure nonsense. The Kim family will even kill/murder other family members, if they feel the least bit threatened. A Kim family member was killed/murdered in another nation down in the southern area of the Pacific some years ago. If memory serves correctly, he was injected with some sort of poison at an airport.

Very sad that humans can be like that. But it isn't such a new thing. Been happening by national/regional power players for hundreds/thousands of years.

Odd timing, your post. There's some interesting news recently out-and-about that some defector is indicating the Kim fella wants another chat with former President Trump.

Makes me wonder what sort of defect (or) there could be going on.

And there are reports that the DPRK may be having some trouble handling matters for their people that arose recently due to weather. We are having some very odd weather in this part of the planet. Just a few days ago I hit a power button just seconds before a power surge and the grid went off-line due to a lightening strike. Our rainy season is usually over by this time of the year, but ... well, that report is for another thread.
