We are still in the thick of it. Still seeing K-9 teams searching for, and finding, bodies downstream. Impressed with government response. Chinook helicopters arrived very quickly with aid. FEMA is working for us as is National Guard and US Army. We thank a service member daily. Incredibly, a radio caller suggested the government "get out of the way," Well, that anti-government sentiment needs to stop. Still no water for thousands of businesses and more weeks to wait. We'll get through this.

Make sure people know the truth. Lies and political rhetoric is causing some to refuse help like the lie FEMA will take your house. This is where government can do a great deal of help in spite of what some wingnuts spout.

This is my son's street (vehicle pictured in rubble is not his). His first floor and utilities were washed away but upstairs bedrooms still intact. Six months of repairs needed.
