NORAD Can't Track Drones

Purely a guess on my part, but Israel's iron dome, which is largely US technology, will pick up track and shoot down just about
anything coming in. From a physics perspective, detection is much easier than targeting and engaging, and yet
the iron dome is actually targeting and engaging, with success.

GPS for one, that was a military first thing.

I love Flight Radar. Tracks basically every plane and helicopter, including military sometimes, on the planet. Very cool and quiet helpful when somebody is flying in. Crazy. There is no way any of us were imagining this kind of everyday technology for average people 40 years ago.

Watching 60 Mintes right now on 03016/25 it was said NORAD isn't capable of tracking drones. Reason? Their tracking technology is designed for high flying bombers not low flying drones!! I find this incredible to think our military and government is so naive to just ignore them. Anyone recall December 7, 1941?
We're not just ignoring them.

Using NORAD to track them is like using a bulldozer to drive a philips head screw in.

And I thought I was more clear by understanding that we are not defenseless to Drones.

It is possible that it is out already...
If we can't identify what they are a cannot track them, I'll call that defenseless. Isn't it good practice to identify them then if they are harmless ignore them. If we decide they are suspect then find a way to knock them out of the air. Why not deploy helicopters to try to identify them? To know for a fact they are hovering over our military bases and not do a damn thing is traitorous. Is heat "type" seeking technology only for jet planes? They make noise and are electric unless they are from outer space.!!!

There is nothing to suggest that the military can not track drones...

I am sure that they have the technology... don't worry.

.
So you're saying they have but choose not to use it....................hm-m-m-m

You keep making these statements... what evidence do you have that they don't have the tech and/or are not using it?

I think people need to remember what NORAD is and why it came into existence

The threat of bombers flying across the the attic to cross Canada snd bomb targets in the US

Large dispersed radar stations.

They won’t pick up drones travelling across the artic a few meters off the ground. More smaller radar stations would be required. And notice how large the Canadian North is.

Such a network would be very expensive, not very cost effective to try to catch a few small drones

You are showing one example where one Agency can't and claiming that nobody can... prove that claim.

I have no trouble believing the 60 Minutes documentary. I ask you go to the source and ask them the professional military and defense personnel. Maybe you should learn drones can be shot down in wars but not over our own bases and populations. Tracking and destroying are two different plans of attack.
