No pride flags but Confederate and Nazi may be okay.

How does stating that IMO plantations are inappropriate places to hold personal celebrations "smear" political enemies?

How was I "selective" in my "outrage?" I mentioned Soviet gulags and execution chambers as equally inappropriate sites.

I would put it a bit later than the mid-60s. Reagan went to Mississippi in 1980 and talked about states rights, didn’t mention the three civil rights lives lost nearby.

And Trump must be mistaken, cause he seems to appeal to the racism he sees in our society.

Should whips and chains be part of the celebrations? Re-enactments of slave auctions? Families separated? Rape? Because all of that took place on plantations.

Better example would be a castle, where the serfs and peasants were not free and were oppressed. Who wouldn't love to have a party at a castle? or a wedding ina great hall?

In the real world, the "confederate flag" has been a harmless symbol of regional pride for many generations.

While the Pride FLag is a flag representing a political alliance that pushes terrible ideas ranging from child multilation to anti-white racism, and should be banned from all government funded buildings.

The title of this article is completely inaccurate.
If you read what the guy is saying he is saying that you can display any flag you want, including the pride flag, if it's part of curriculum, meaning for educational purposes.
The article makes it seem like he wants to replace pride flags used as a show of support, with nazi flags, as if he supports fascism.
He is just trying to get politics out of the schools, and he's saying that having a flag displayed for educational purposes is fine, regardless of the flag.

If they would have titled the article "Republican lawmaker admits to being a fascist" it would have been equally as accurate. Bad reporting, sorry to say.
