The wild and wacky regular season is over. Only 14 teams - 7 in the NFC and 7 ink the AFC - have at least one more game to play.

Super Wild Card Weekend Schedule: https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-2021-postseason-schedule

Only the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs are idle in the Wild Card round in the new 14-team playoff format.

Dark horse: Tampa Bay; I would not be surprised to see them play in the NFC championship game.

Early exit: Seattle, if not this week then next.

Long Legs: Pittsburgh and New Orleans, at least until they run into the two champs: KC and Tom Brady.

Champ: KC; but I am not counting out a miracle by the Bay where old people wait to die. hmm...no wonder Tom liked the place for his new home.

Not sure about Brady and Tampa doing much after beating a bad Washington team this weekend. Tampa beats bad teams, 1-5 against playoff teams this season. They do have a shellacking against Green Bay and close losing games to KC and LA on their resume so there's hope.

Yeah, I wouldn't bet a dime on them. But, it does have a nice feel to it at this point in time.

Have to say I like top seeds to get to the Super Bowl. Dark horse could be the Ravens, but I question who they've beat. They're scoring points now so have to give them a shot.

AFC

Goes through KC and if It's a close game at the end Mahomes is MONEY. Tough to win back to back Super Bowls, but have to make them the favorite to get back.

Steelers have a great "D" but not sure it's good enough to get to the Super Bowl.

Cleveland has a problems on defense.

Indianapolis, Rivers is guaranteed to through atleast one terrible interception. Just not good enough imo.

Tennessee has a problem on defense.

Buffalo is rolling right now. Rooting for them and hoping for a KC matchup for AFC Championship.

NFC

Goes through Green Bay.

Bears not good enough.

Seattle is playing much better defense now and Russel Wilson is always dangerous. Just not sure if they are good enough to get all the way to SB.

LA Rams, Tough DEFENSE! Don't think enough OFFENSE.

Tampa has a shot but don't believe they're on par with Green Bay or New Orleans.

Washington shouldn't be in the playoffs.

New Orleans are probably owed a SB appearance and are good enough on both sides of the ball. Kamara is a beast.

Think it's going to be Green Bay and Saints in NFC championship game. Going with MVP Rodgers in that game.

Only because going all the way would make Tampa Bay the first true home team at the Super Bowl after Minnesota almost did it.

I am excited about seeing Chase Young, the favorite for Defensive Rookie of the Year, blow up Tom Brady. During his third year at Ohio State, he reminded me of the Bosa brothers. It should be a good matchup.

GB got the 1 seed.
Will likely face TB in a rematch of the shellacking my Pack got the 1st time against them.

It has me worried.

GB v TB has me worried. Don't know what happened to GB offensive line that game, but Rodgers was beat up. If they keep Rodgers clean, they win.

By rule one NFC Least team must be in the playoffs. Do you think the Giants are better with a less talented roster?
NY beat Washington twice so think Giants are the better team. Washington has an outstanding defense but their offense is offensive. Poor Alex Smith hobbling around is just sad.

Don't feel bad for the Giants though, if they hadn't collapsed against Philly they would be in the playoffs

Not sure what the hell happened in the loss, but it was early in the season. Tampa was blown out by New Orleans, think you throw out games like that when it's between two good teams. Green Bay will be rested and at home, think they are abit more balanced on both sides of the ball.

Tampa Bay is good no doubt and Brady is a winner, so think it should be a good game, if Green Bay can run enough to set up Rodgers unbelievable play action game they'll win. Would love to see another snow game, Packers looked good in the snow against Tennessee.

So are the 49ers better than the Rams after beating them twice?

Alex Smith is the feel-good story. You would not know now he endured SEVENTEEN surgeries to save his LIFE. Who can feel bad for him now?

Washington has to reach the SB to become a .500 team!

Washington would be 9-9 with wins in both the Wild Card and Divisional Round games. No Super Bowl team finished with an even record.

Well, in the case of NY and Washington they have similar records and are in the same division so not sure how you determine the better team besides head to head match ups. Guess a case can be made for either team being better.

Alex is a great story! Just feel bad he has to play with his current injury and his surgically repaired ones. Also, he doesn't have alot to work with so yeah feel bad for him.

Personally, I wish he would keep his ass off the field.

One problem Green Bay had in Tampa was losing David Bakhtiari. This time, he will not even dress up. He tore an ACL in practice before the Bears game.

The Titans reminded everyone there is much less snow in Nashville. They did not know what cleats to wear and fell down several times while chasing Green Bay players.

New Orleans should easily beat Chicago. For weeks people thought the Bears were more likely to fire Matt Nagy than clinch a playoff berth. They got in despite losing because Kyler Murray was injured early and had a no-name replacement. I loved seeing the Saints wallop Tom Brady on the road in prime time. They exposed his age that night. I can't figure out why they could do it, but Green Bay was on the wrong side of a blowout in the same stadium.

What do you think happens to his leg if he catches another hard whack, which is very likely to happen?

Now Alex Smith has two plates and 20 screws in his right leg. He also wears a brace on it during games. So his risk of breaking the same bones again is lower now.

I am happy for him every time he plays. Just walking through the tunnel without crutches is a miracle for someone who once thought he should get half of his leg cut off.

What do you all think of the playoff expansions from 12 to 14 teams and only two teams clinching a bye week?

IMO, they need to keep Rodgers clean, the line that is. And I do give them the victory. A running effective running game will be required.

It doesn't matter, except to the 2 seed. But the 7 seed is ecstatic.

Yes, until they get walloped by the best team playing in the Wild Card round. New Orleans will blow out Chicago on Sunday.

Wild Card Weekend kicks off tomorrow with Indy at Buffalo.

Diggs for Buffalo is questionable. On paper Indy is one of the better defensive teams but don't believe they're as good as earlier in the season. Big Ben torched them a few weeks ago and think Allen will also, although if Diggs is out might help Indy abit. Expect an entertaining game. Buffalo 31-20

Los Angeles Rams at Seattle. Mcvay isn't saying if Goff will start after breaking his thumb a few weeks ago. Back up wasn't great last week in a tough spot but has some mobility and might be better with another week of snaps. Kupp is back and will help a challenged offense for the Rams. Rams D doesn't allow much, especially in the 2nd half of their games. Seattle is only favored by a field goal which usually the home team gets automatically. Expect a close game with Russell Wilson being the difference maker. Seattle 20-17.

Tampa at Washington. Washington's defense could make Brady's day difficult but Tampa's offense won't have to do much. Tampa's run defense will make Alex throw it and just don't see it ending well for him and Washington. Tampa 24-13.
