Newsmax sues Fox News, calling it a monopoly that abuses its power

In a statement, Ruddy, the company’s founder and chief executive, said “Fox may have profited from exclusionary contracts and intimidation tactics for years, but those days are over.” Ruddy also told CNN in a phone interview that “Fox News and its various parent companies through the years have acted pretty badly to other companies and other people, I think they have a pretty strong track record of unethical and improper behavior.”

ROFL

they need fox to settle to pay for their legal loss on election fraud claims.

Settlements
  • Dominion Voting Systems: In August 2025, Newsmax agreed to pay $67 million to settle a defamation lawsuit filed by Dominion. Dominion had accused Newsmax of spreading false claims that the company's technology was used to rig the 2020 election. Newsmax will make the payments in installments through 2027.
  • Smartmatic: In March 2025, it was disclosed that Newsmax had paid $40 million to settle a 2021 defamation lawsuit with another voting technology company, Smartmatic. The lawsuit was over Newsmax's false reporting that Smartmatic's machines had helped manipulate the 2020 election.
$100M is chump change to fox.

It's pretty remarkable that they cite FOX's dominance of the "right-wing pay TV market," essentially acknowledging that it's an entirely separate thing from normal news. They aren't saying FOX (or by implication, Newsmax itself) is a news channel that happens to lean right, they are saying it's an entirely different product from the mainstream media and therefore shouldn't even be treated as part of the same industry.

I'm sorry, that's bullshit. If FOX found a niche in the media market that Newsmax can't compete with, that's Newsmax's own problem. Try a different angle. There are dozens of news channels of all ideologies; yours isn't special.

No one cares - they're all trash cable news stations.

You're bragging that the curtains in your slum single-wide are nicer than the ones next door.
Actually, according to the ratings there are plenty of people who do care. ;)
Nah….I do have curtains, I prefer retractable shades. :ROFLMAO:

According to ratings, people wish they had a Kardashian ass and they love to watch scripted reality TV.

People don’t like reality as much. It’s boring. But a sensationalist bullshit story? That definitely will always have a nice chunk of the nation on the edge of their seats.

As we've suspected, that Fox News pie must be a mighty scrumptious pie!

I find it hilarious that Newsmax has to pay Dominion in 3 installments.
