It's an opinion based on the facts. You think it's okay to put this poor lady in jail for weeks for a minor error when we haven't done that to people in the past. And it was probably the government that screwed up and delayed granting her travel permissions. That's not hospitable. That's just mean.

I've seen much made about how Vegas is down. I just saw an Xclamation this morning showing a sticker on a Vegas hotel room refrigerator stating the occupant would be charged $50/day for storing personal items in the minibar fridge. One might suspect a drop in Vegas' attractiveness might be driven by multiple factors.

There's no such thing as a "partially approved" visa. She wasn't in the visa process. She was attempting to adjust status and departed the United States while that application was stil pending. When an applicant for an adjustment of status departs the United States while that application is pending, the application is considered abandoned.

When one applies the discretion to grant humanitarian parole as it's intended (for urgent emergencies), no they didn't.

She violated the terms of her visa and she’s paying the price for that. There’s no story here.

How on God's green earth did she "violate the terms of her visa"? She walked up to a counter and asked to be let in the country. They said no. Where does the jail cell fit into that?
