Once in a great while our friends in NY get uppity and fancy themselves an important sports region. It's rather cute.

I have to ask this:

What the H E double L is this about??

New England sports fan insecurities, of course. (Between the Red Sox and Patriots, I had a rough childhood.)
Some of us outgrow our childhoods, just sayin'

The NY Yankees have won 27 World Series Championships. The New York Football Giants have won four Super Bowls.

Say what you want, I'm a happy fan.

It's a bit of a silly pissing contest as a whole. I do miss the "1918" chant when at the Bleachers though.
Of course it's a stilly pissing contest. That is, in part, what sports is for.

FWIW, I have extended family who are Yankees fans, and I tell them in all honesty I wouldn't trade your 27 titles for 2004. It was that good.

From a Red Sox fan's perspective I guess that makes sense.
