I guess New York Jews aren't very impressed by the Dem message that Trump is literally Hitler.


A major Satmar group of ultra-Orthodox Hasidic Jews in New York officially endorsed former President Donald Trump on Monday for president, despite Democrat claims that he held a “Nazi” rally in Madison Square Garden on Sunday.

Israel’s Arutz Sheva reported the endorsement on Monday, under the headline “[Kamala] Harris Is Bad for Jews”:

The founder of the group, Rabbi Joel Teitelbaum, was rescued from the Nazis. Another faction of the Satmar group is also expected to endorse Trump. Eric Trump recently met with both factions, according to a report by VINews.

I’m not sure how much Trump wants the Satmar sects’ endorsements given their fundamental opposition to the existence of the state of Israel, their belief that the Holocaust was divine retribution for Zionism, and their opposition to women in higher education.
 

I don't think their endorsement will hurt Trump.

Probably not. But given how unlikely it is in general that this particular group would support a woman for president, I can’t imagine this endorsement turned any Harris voters either.

And it’s not the kind of thing he can really trumpet as an example without calling into question whether he supports their position on Israel.

Probably not a factor either way.
 
Trump will probably be better for Israel the nation, or at least the current government of said nation. From their perspective, at least.

I expect this contributed to the decision made.

Trump was endorsed by the KKK and it didn't hurt him. He could be endorsed by Satan himself and it wouldn't hurt him. Trump's fans are unwavering. He's their ride or die no matter what.

That's right. The state of Israel is supposed to be established by the Messiah, according to many orthodox Jews. The Messiah being a mortal man, who also will rebuild the Temple.

Hasidic Jews are ultra-conservatives, fundamentalist Jews. Of course, they'll vote for greater restrictions on freedom.
