This is a terrible blow against gay marriage in liberal New York .

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,202339,00.html

ALBANY, N.Y. — New York's highest court ruled Thursday that gay marriage is not allowed under state law, rejecting arguments by same-sex couples who said the law violates their constitutional rights.

It totally stinks! I haven't read through the article or the opinion, but will later. What a disappointment.

I wonder how this will effect the rest of the nation...

Woohoo! Happy Days! Those damn homos don't deserve to be Americans no less have the same rights as God Fearing Heteros! America is one step away from being a Commie nation if we allowed Gays the right to marry and all the legalities that accompany it! Who do "THEY" think "THEY" are?

Thank God from now on those damn gay couples will know they're always less than there hetero neighbors! Hey! Why not pass a law making them pay a TAX for being Gay? Yeah, that's the ticket! I bet if you made them pay they'd turn straight right away! Eveyone knows that people CHOOSE to be Gay and that in truth a tax for being Gay would kick them where it hurts, right in their Gay balls.

Let's all celebrate with Navy Pride the great news that Gay people must continue to be second class citizens! :2party:

doughgirl, you are adorable! I am proud of you. 26X was being sarcastic. Regardless, thank you for saying that God (whom I don't believe in ;)) loves them just as much. Bravo.
:bravo:

This is what happens when you try to change the definition of marriage, maybe now we can focus on civil unions.

C'mon...just ask Navy Pride? He wouldn't trust a gay man alone with one of his sons...Gay people are not OK according to the god fearing rapture right websites...haven't you been keeping up with their hate filled points of view?

I say "TAX 'EM for being GAY!"

Here you go....this is what I'm talkin' about....

http://www.godhatesfags.com/main/faq.html

Doesn't the Bible say that God loves everyone?

No. You are probably thinking of John 3:16, which says no such thing. The word translated "world" in that verse (kosmos) NEVER means every individual of mankind who has ever lived (see, e.g., John 17:9). Romans 9:13 says that God hated Esau, and Psalm 5:5 says that God hates all WORKERS of iniquity (e.g., fags). Other examples are Proverbs 6:16-19, Psalm 11:5, and Malachi 1:3. Given these verses, how can you say God loves everyone? Can you really say "God loves everyone" when God says "I hated Esau?" Does God love the people in hell?

Or, you are thinking of "God is love." God certainly is love, toward His elect (His children). But He certainly is not love toward the reprobate (children of the devil). That's why His elect go to heaven, and the reprobate go to hell. In Romans 9:13, which says "As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated", Jacob is a representative of God's elect, while Esau is a representative of the reprobate. In Romans 1, the word "reprobate" is used to describe fags. Fags are reprobate. God hates reprobates. Therefore, God hates fags.

Furthermore, God specifically says that He ABHORS people who engage in sodomy (as well as other forms of sexual perversion): "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be] upon them...And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them." Leviticus 20:13,23. Understand? GOD ABHORS FAGS.

God's hatred is one of His holy attributes, whereby He reveals Himself as having a fixed and immutable determination to punish the finally impenitent with eternal perdition. God's hatred is not like man's hatred. His hatred is holy, pure, unchanging, while man's hatred is a sinful, fickle emotion.

26 X World Champs,

I can have fun with you all day!

No what do they have to say?

TAX 'EM for being GAY!"

What a great IDEA! I never though about that. We can use those tax monies/Sodom & Gomorrah fund to finance more faith based programs.

Great idea! Let's pour all available funds into a PRO-GOD ABSTINENCE PROGRAM....one that rewards people for NOT HAVING SEX by PAYING them the tax money that was collected from the GAY TAX?

Well he didn’t seem like he was being sarcastic………..but if you say so. Sometimes I think kidding goes to far and people get a terribly wrong impression, with that said....He seemed pretty hateful to gays if you ask me.

Well Champs……I am NOT A CALVANIST and believe that some humans are predestined to be saved and others are predestined to hell. I believe God gave us free wills……..and that we decide where we end up. I do believe He knows before we decide but that we do have the freedom to make the decision to accept or reject. I believe He loves us ALL, even those who deny Him.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

“The world”-everyone on earth
“Whosoever”-anyone who asks

I believe God loves everyone unconditionally. He does not move away from us…….we move away from Him because we sin. His love is infinite. And He has expressed His love for the people of this world through the cross of Calvary…. Had He not loved everyone, why would He have sent Christ to save us? If He had hand picked people then what difference would Christ have made by coming? None.

Nobody asked me but...

I don't think "God hates fags" after all He made us all in his image, in fact, God made fags! It's true, they tell me that God knows all, see's all before we are even born.

If you die in a horrible accident it's because God willed it. If you were born a crack baby with aids He also willed that. Same with healthy, bouncing babies who are born with silver-spoons in their mouths, don't really know why but that's the way it is... it is written!

Gay marriage? Straight marriage? Who gives a damn, and what business of the government is it to license marriage at all? What you might find suprising is that our founding fathers never obtained marriage licenses, and marriage licenses never existed until after the Civil war. At that time, marriage licenses began to be issued in the South, which wanted intermarriage between blacks and whites to be illegal. They passed laws which authorized marriages, and the process soon spread to the North, which also thought it a good idea, not because of race, but for other reasons, such as not wanting mentally handicapped people to get married.

The bottom line is that, whatever laws are passed in regard to marriage, you can ignore them if you choose to do so. If you marry without getting a license, you are still married, and many states still recognize "common law" marriages, which is what they are. Whether you are married or not is in the eyes of God, not man (through government).

Now for you gays, that does present a problem. Without the government ordering employers or insurance companies to recognize your marriage, they can do as they please as far as respecting your choice of gay marriage. But you also free to do as you please. If your employer refuses to accept your gay marriage, and denies you benefits, you can always tell them to stick their job up their behinds, and go elsewhere for employment. There may be many employers who wont recognize gay marriage, but there are many who do, and will give you the benefits. Rather than attempting to force gay marriage on everyone else, just get another job. You will be happier, and the whole issue of gay marriage wll become one less wedge issue that Democrats and Republicans can use to divide the country. And never forget that, as long as government attempts to regulate issues, including gay marriage, those involved will never have a moment's peace. Just let it go, and watch the government lose control over your lives. In the end, that is the only solution. You are either free men and women, or slaves to government bureaucrats. The choice is yours.

Whether it stinks depends on what side of the issue you are on my friend.........To me its very refreshing that a liberal state like New York would rule this way and reinforce the belief that Marriage is defined as and act between a man and a woman......

Most religions teach love the sinner and hate the sin be it Adultery, gay sex, etc....

That is not my reason for being against gay marriage though............I have posted my reasons many times in this forum and they have very little to do with religion.......

Fifty years from now this country's going to look back and be so embarrassed. Ah well, I should still be alive and kicking by then.

Okay now...you are using the most extreme example of rabid fundamentalism...and the use of a group which no one even acknowledges with any level of respect seriously undermines your point.

And to doughgirl: thank you for expressing such a kind sentiment. :2wave:

I believe that gay marriage should be legal, but you guys are criticizing NY too harshly. You make it sound like it's already allowed in every other state. This was merely a court case. Now it's up to the state legislature to decide what to do.

WEll thank you Jallman. My heart is not as hard as you think. I have never said i do not repsect and love gays and the gay community. Quite the contrary. And I know in my heart that God loves them as much as He loves me. :2razz:

But really...it was very nice to read your kind words.

True. I hope Navy Pride does not believe that this is the end of the road for gay marriage in New York. The ruling only stated that the issue should be taken up before congress. It did not rule gay marriage constitutional or unconstitutional.

Again, should we not focus on civil unions, or are we going to go in to how f**ked up marriage is again, and if that's true, wouldn't you like your own definition?
