The New World Translation is unique in one thing – it is the first intentional, systematic effort at producing a complete version of the Bible that is edited and revised for the specific purpose of agreeing with a group's doctrine.
The Jehovah’s Witnesses and the Watchtower Society realized that their beliefs contradicted Scripture. So, rather than conforming their beliefs to Scripture, they altered Scripture to agree with their beliefs. The “New World Bible Translation Committee” went through the Bible and changed any Scripture that did not agree with Jehovah’s Witness theology.

That's not really true. Every version since and including the King James Version was edited for political purposes and to conform with the positions of the writers. That was even the explicit purpose of the Council of Nicea. People have been revising religious tests for political purposes for a very very long time.
Prior to the discussions I've had with Jehovah's Witnesses, I've never heard of the New World Translation Bible.
I came to know of it while doing research for my discussions. What little I know came from one or two sites, one of which is a place that I often use - gotquestions.org.
The New World Translation (NWT) is defined by the Jehovah's Witnesses’ parent organization (the Watchtower Society) as "a translation of the Holy Scriptures made directly from Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek into modern-day English by a committee of anointed witnesses of Jehovah." The NWT is the anonymous work of the “New World Bible Translation Committee.” Jehovah’s Witnesses claim that the anonymity is in place so that the credit for the work will go to God. Of course, this has the added benefit of keeping the translators from any accountability for their errors and prevents real scholars from checking their academic credentials.

This is clearly demonstrated by the fact that, as new editions of the New World Translation were published, additional changes were made to the biblical text.

I am embarking on a quest with this thread. I will learn as I go seeking and researching the specific corruptions that has been made.
Hopefully, this thread will serve to provide some enlightenment to our misled and confused brethren.

These words are 100% bull--
After keeping Gods word in latin for 1000 years( refused to let anyone read Gods word except clergy who knew latin( few)( not of Jesus that is a guarantee) after the false councils were held--finally under the guise of heresy Catholicism translators erred to fit council false additives, by misusing commas. and subtle errors. Finally men could read Gods word for themselves and out of their own error filled translations--men could see that Catholicism was far removed from God( 100% fact)--But first out of their great love for their brothers--catholic clergy ordered every human trying to translate( before they did)--burned alive for heresy. They call it the dark ages for a reason---trinity darkness--the great apostasy.
I have read many translations--The NWT is the only one in harmony with itself and with the teachings of Jesus.

Wrong, that is just a flat out JW LIE. The Bible was kept in a single language so that crap like the NWT could not pollute the word of God. The false prophet CT Russell had to wait to spread his heresies.
No bull about it.
The Letter of Dr. Julius Mantey to the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society
July 11, 1974
Dear Sirs:
I have a copy of your letter addressed to Caris in Santa Ana, California, and I am writing to express my disagreement with statements made in that letter, as well as in quotations you have made from the Dana-Mantey Greek Grammar.
(1) Your statement: "their work allows for the rendering found in the Kingdom Interlinear Translation of the Greek Scriptures at John 1:1."
There is no statement in our grammar that was ever meant to imply that "a god" was a permissible translation in John 1:1.

That was Mantey's response to this letter by the Watchtower.

Darkness says--God doesn't want flock to read his written word---Jesus says--read it apply all of it--every utterance. theres the proof.
Funny throughout the centuries--even trinity translators put--a god or was divine--but not God in the last line. Because it is a small g in the last line--this is fact. You are listening to the kind of men who voted to remove Gods personal name in the nearly 6800 places God put it because God wants it there--it took love for God to put it back--then get condemned by those who lacked the love for Gods will.
Bull****. JW's have been liars from day one.
Well kjw47....the evidence is there. Mantey saying JW lied. What did Jesus say about lying?
Why should I listen to you? It's your opinion against a real scholar.
JW doesn't even have any scholar to support their claims.
And speaking of names, Jehovah isn't a translation for YHVH. There was no "J" in the ancient times.
The Pharisees said the same about Jesus and his apostles( teachers) they didn't attend the schools of men to learn Gods truths.
Some greek scholars backed the NWT.
By making corrections in front of the ridiculing hearts--proves truth is what the JW teachers seek above face in the religious communities. The scholars can mock all they will just like the Pharisees did. both are wrong.
No J in Hebrew--there is J in English--Jehovah is English for Yhwh.
Back in the 70's I met with two JW's and talked for months. I told them back then that in order for them to be consistent that the Holy Spirit was not a person, they would have to change the verbiage in John chapter 14 and erase the "Him" and "He's". Later on they did just what I predicted.
That's another example of how you guys have rewritten the Bible to conform to your unbiblical beliefs.
