A lot of boys will be crushed, but good.
Have seen too many docu-shows where a teen has ended up taking their life after getting talked into taking a nude and it going out of control, getting spread everywhere, then being mocked and bullied.

This deeply ingrained shame of nudity we have is shameful.

This phone will fail.

A phone? Calling and texting come to mind.

And If you can prevent your teen girl from taking a nude of herself and sending it to someone in a lapse of judgement, for it to spread everywhere across other students, that's a good thing.

get a life

I was asking why a child lock against nudity is necessary

I forgot Christians are ashamed of their bodies

It's not aimed at adults and it has nothing to do with Christianity being ashamed of bodies.

It has to do with vulnerable children being manipulated into taking photos of themselves that then get used as blackmail, leading those children to kill themselves.

This is one product, explicitly for children. An adult who wants to take and send nudes can simply get the normal phones, which allow it.

You don't have to be a prude to think it's not a bad idea for a phone meant for children being able to prevent them from taking nude pics that could be used to blackmail them or given to pedos or themselves receiving an unsolicited nude picture.

This nude thing is a female passive-aggressive play. They want to feel empowered by having something others want, but they don't want any responsibility when they fall into the wrong hands. If this camera thing works ... it's the best thing for everyone.

Context is everything.

There is an element of legality here that is a matter to discuss. As things stand today some 13 year old takes a nude photo of themselves and sends it to whoever (perhaps plural) then on a legal level they are all guilty of possession of child pornography and the person who took the photo of themselves is guilty of producing child pornography. Covers the scenario of a couple of minors taking pics or recordings of each other through various means that results in distributable material. No matter the context, or reason, or even if one or the other does not realize it. Moreover, in the realm of social media it is not uncommon for someone underage to do this and it end up in the hands of multiple people including adults. The whole thing is just a legal quagmire depending on how all of this happened.

It is not entirely about this application on a smart phone, nor is it entirely about the concept of "shame of nudity."

The bigger issue is safeguards for kids that simply do not think about the implications of their actions but are using smartphones non-stop and engaged in multiple social media platforms where information and media can be spread with shocking speed to various legal consequence.

Maybe, but as long as it IS deeply ingrained, I'm good with the concept.

America the freest of the free, but only if you keep your clothes on. How ridiculous, what next not being able to say the word **** on the internet.

By who's standard?

I've been a christian. What catholics do to children should be a hanging offense.

You cannot incur love with violence. Catholics are the most violent of god lovers, their churches are crowded with life like statues with blood pouring out.

In seven years of biblical study I never found ONE LINE that supported physical harm to children. That work of fiction is filled with more violence than an epic western. I have no time for it....nor any of the unsupported crap of the cross rome.

Think that's been done already. ****ing 'ell. Is it Ireland or Scotland where they say "Fooking'ell"!

Funny thing about america. No problem with violence and killing in their movies. and then become prudes over a word.

If you can't answer my question without dissing something, don't say anything..
First of all, from the Artic north pole to the tip of Argentina ( and technically a part of Antarctica) is "America" . Which part are you bitching about? I, personally, live in the United States. Some posters in here live in Canada. We are both "Americans".
Secondly, I would much rather we be cautious regarding nudity on the internet, and keep pedos and perves from using the net to go shopping. Other than that, nudity bothers me none at all. I just think there's a time and place for it. Nude beaches, nude communities, privacy of your own home, strip joints. All good.
Thirdly, we all know movies are not real. Some violent movies have nudity.
Last, you don't hear me bitching about country, where ever that may be. You can walk around swinging your wee pecker out all you want. Don't be pissed if someone laughs at it.

If your response needs to be dissed then do not act so surprised.

Really!! You cannot figure out which part of america that stretches so far i am referring to. Why does that sound like your desperate to not acknowledge something.

Right! because pervs and pedos never use nude beaches, nude communities, privacy of their own home, strip joints to do their shopping. And apparently normal people do not use the internet to look at nudes.

You do know that porn is not any more real than movies

I doubt you could even find my country on a map let alone have a clue what to bitch about.

Considering all your poor reasoning here is laughable do not be surprised that you are also getting laughed at,

Let's see, line by line
My point was, you had to dis 2 whole continents instead of talking on the subject matter. That's called "deflection".

I can, I just think it's stupid. I never say I'm an "American" I say, "I'm from the US:

They probably do, but I would suspect LEGAL nude places tend to be wary of these sort of people. And I know for a FACT strip joints are VERY much against touching the dancers.

Well, yeah, it kinda is. In R movies they fake having sex. Porn actually shows the act in great detail. The fact you think the 2 are the same makes me wonder about you.

I know for a fact, I can find your nation on a map. And as you can see I can bitch about a lot of things on a fairly high level of bitchiness.

Poor reasoning? You simply deflected from the point of the thread to jump on my case, AND YOU DIDN'T ANSWER THE NON SERIOUS QUESTION I ASKED. What a maroon.

My initial thought as well.
I certainly don't see it flying off the shelves off course.

I don't have a problem with nudity at all and teens looking at what teens are going to look at(I sure as hell was checking out dad's stash!)

But if a parent chooses to employ this for their 13 yo and it manages to keep them from sending a nude out in a lapse of judgement, spreading around, and wrecking them mentally,
I'm for it.

But you do still have to contend with other avenues such as access to a tablet or PC. But it takes one avenue away.

If kids want to take a nude and their phone won't do it they'll get a phone that does, or learn to daguerreotype or anything in between. It's like trying to enforce and teach abstinence only.

I'm not encouraging the activities just must use other methods of prevention.

True, but say a 13 yo may not have the ways or means to aquire another phone under the radar, prepaid or whatever.

A little older(part time job), and good luck.

Though of course I don't put any possibility past a determined teen. I lived it.

But at least that phone is trying to curb things in one way.

I guess. I think the same thing could be achieved for much cheaper by just destroying the lenses of the cameras. No camera, no problem. Otherwise fully functional.
