It uses artificial intelligence to analyse the picture on screen, recognising if there is nudity and preventing it from being shown.
This is done on the handset itself, with HarmBlock+ AI from UK company SafeToNet analysing content in real time, without the need to transmit data for processing elsewhere.
A lot of boys will be crushedAn Ofsted report in 2021 found that there was an epidemic of sexual harassment in schools, with nearly 90% of girls and 50% of boys being sent explicit pictures or videos of things they did not want to see.
New research from Vodafone found that one in five secondary school aged children from 11 to 17 have felt pressured into sharing an explicit image of themselves.
New smartphone for children will automatically block nudes
It offers another option from the 'brick' type phones many have turned to.metro.co.uk
A lot of boys will be crushed, but good.
Have seen too many docu-shows where a teen has ended up taking their life after getting talked into taking a nude and it going out of control, getting spread everywhere, then being mocked and bullied.
A phone? Calling and texting come to mind. Why have it..................?
And If you can prevent your teen girl from taking a nude of herself and sending it to someone in a lapse of judgement, for it to spread everywhere across other students, that's a good thing. It's just nude FFS
It's not the shame of nudity, as much as it is what I mentioned. This deeply ingrained shame of nudity we have is shameful.

If a parent wants to use it, possibly saving their child a lot of problems, what's the problem?get a life
I was asking why a child lock against nudity is necessary
I'm a ******* athiest.I forgot Christians are ashamed of their bodies
get a life

Maybe, but as long as it IS deeply ingrained, I'm good with the concept. This deeply ingrained shame of nudity we have is shameful.
It's not aimed at adults and it has nothing to do with Christianity being ashamed of bodies.
It has to do with vulnerable children being manipulated into taking photos of themselves that then get used as blackmail, leading those children to kill themselves.
This is one product, explicitly for children. An adult who wants to take and send nudes can simply get the normal phones, which allow it.
Think that's been done already. ****ing 'ell. Is it Ireland or Scotland where they say "Fooking'ell"!America the freest of the free, but only if you keep your clothes on. How ridiculous, what next not being able to say the word **** on the internet.
Funny thing about america. No problem with violence and killing in their movies. and then become prudes over a word.Think that's been done already. ****ing 'ell. Is it Ireland or Scotland where they say "Fooking'ell"!
If you can't answer my question without dissing something, don't say anything..Funny thing about america. No problem with violence and killing in their movies. and then become prudes over a word.
If your response needs to be dissed then do not act so surprised. If you can't answer my question without dissing something, don't say anything..
First of all, from the Artic north pole to the tip of Argentina ( and technically a part of Antarctica) is "America" . Which part are you bitching about? I, personally, live in the United States. Some posters in here live in Canada. We are both "Americans".
Secondly, I would much rather we be cautious regarding nudity on the internet, and keep pedos and perves from using the net to go shopping. Other than that, nudity bothers me none at all. I just think there's a time and place for it. Nude beaches, nude communities, privacy of your own home, strip joints. All good.
Thirdly, we all know movies are not real. Some violent movies have nudity.
Last, you don't hear me bitching about country, where ever that may be. You can walk around swinging your wee pecker out all you want. Don't be pissed if someone laughs at it.
Let's see, line by lineIf your response needs to be dissed then do not act so surprised.
Really!! You cannot figure out which part of america that stretches so far i am referring to. Why does that sound like your desperate to not acknowledge something.
Right! because pervs and pedos never use nude beaches, nude communities, privacy of their own home, strip joints to do their shopping. And apparently normal people do not use the internet to look at nudes.
You do know that porn is not any more real than movies
I doubt you could even find my country on a map let alone have a clue what to bitch about.
Considering all your poor reasoning here is laughable do not be surprised that you are also getting laughed at,
My initial thought as well. This phone will fail.
I certainly don't see it flying off the shelves off course. My initial thought as well.
If kids want to take a nude and their phone won't do it they'll get a phone that does, or learn to daguerreotype or anything in between. It's like trying to enforce and teach abstinence only.I certainly don't see it flying off the shelves off course.
I don't have a problem with nudity at all and teens looking at what teens are going to look at(I sure as hell was checking out dad's stash!)
But if a parent chooses to employ this for their 13 yo and it manages to keep them from sending a nude out in a lapse of judgement, spreading around, and wrecking them mentally,
I'm for it.
But you do still have to contend with other avenues such as access to a tablet or PC. But it takes one avenue away.
True, but say a 13 yo may not have the ways or means to aquire another phone under the radar, prepaid or whatever. If kids want to take a nude and their phone won't do it they'll get a phone that does, or learn to daguerreotype or anything in between. I'm not encouraging the activities just must use other methods of prevention.
I guess. I think the same thing could be achieved for much cheaper by just destroying the lenses of the cameras. No camera, no problem. Otherwise fully functional.True, but say a 13 yo may not have the ways or means to aquire another phone under the radar, prepaid or whatever.
A little older(part time job), and good luck.
Though of course I don't put any possibility past a determined teen. I lived it.
But at least that phone is trying to curb things in one way.
