New Orleans EMS can't keep up with calls due to the Covid-19 surge as mayor restores a mask mandate​

(CNN)Emergency medical responders in New Orleans have been hit so hard by the resurgence in Covid-19 cases that the city doesn't have the capacity to handle 911 calls, the mayor said Friday as she announced a new mask mandate and a contract to increase EMS resources.
"Thanks to the Delta variant, the Covid pandemic is once again raging out of control," New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell said at a news conference.

What more is needed to get the deniers to wake up to the fact that this is a pandemic that needs to be addressed (and accepted as such) by every person in our nation?

This is a fight against an enemy that has no heart and has no political objectives. Stop fighting the Democrats and start fighting the war that we "are losing" because those that believe in our previous and incompetent president Trump are denying this war is here.

I'm saying that you are making it worse by denying the actual science. It may well be that the vaccinated populace is more dangerous in terms of the viral spread than the unvaccinated, simply because there are more of them harboring it asymptomatically, so in turn they are spreading it silently. If you get ebola but you get enough morphine to ease the pain, it doesn't mean that you no longer have ebola, and it doesn't mean you can't spread it. Same is true for covid only covid is infinitely more contagious. The vaccinated - perhaps like you - are thinking and acting like they are immune from the virus and can't spread it. Neither is true. An unvaccinated person that is suffering severe symptoms is at least in bed somewhere. Thanks!!

I'd advise taking a day or two off after the second shot. I was fine but many people felt a bit under the weather. You'll feel a big weight off your shoulders afterwards. It must feel like you are a fugitive on the run right now.
