The primary elections for NJ Governor are being held next Tuesday, so I am curious how you will vote ... :)

Mikie Sherrill is expected to win the D primary and Jack Ciattarelli the R primary.

Trump made NJ quite close last year, losing by only 5%, while it usually votes D+15 or so.

If you are not living in NJ, you can still vote ... in the poll options 5, 6, 7, 8.

Mikie Sherrill is the only woman running in the crowded Democratic primary field for governor.

I think this is a main reason she's ahead in polls and will also likely be the D nominee on Tuesday.

On the Republican side, only men are running in the primary, with Jack Ciattarelli far ahead in polls. He was also the R candidate for governor last time already and only barely lost to Democratic Governor Phil Murphy in 2021, when unpopular Biden was president.

This time, Trump is president and NJ usually votes for the Governor candidate not from the President's party.

Mikie Sherrill is not her real name, it's just a nickname:

Rebecca Michelle "Mikie" Sherrill[1][2] (/ˈmaɪki/ MY-kee; born January 19, 1972)[3] is an American politician, former U.S. Navy helicopter pilot, attorney, and former federal prosecutor[4] serving as the U.S. representative for New Jersey's 11th congressional districtsince 2019. The district includes a swath of suburban and exurban areas west of New York City. A member of the Democratic Party, Sherrill was elected on November 6, 2018.[2][5]She was reelected in 2020 by a slightly narrower margin and reelected in 2022 and 2024 by wide margins.[6][7][8] She is currently seeking the Democratic nomination for Governor of New Jersey.[9]

This seems a bit early given the primaries haven't happened yet, but I take your point based on current polling. I think Sherrill will pull through because she's a centrist candidate, but from a policy perspective, Fulop is the one with the clearest vision. He would be my choice based on policy vision and details, but his past makes him a tough choice. Hudson County politics is a bit like the mob. Ciattarelli is a non starter because there is no way I am voting for Trump aligned candidates. Back in the days when NJ had more centrist GOP candidates, there was always that possibility of voting for one but not the MAGA ones. Hell to the no.

The OP poster complains that not enough Muslims are deported from Austria every year.

But for some reason he is concerned about New Jersey.

I just voted for Steve Sweeney in the democratic primary yesterday.

EARLY VOTING IS CURRENTLY OPEN ACROSS THE STATE!

I live in South Jersey and I am not thrilled with our choices, but I felt Sweeney would benefit South Jersey the most if he gets into the governors mansion.

NJ can be exhausting because the north part of our state tends to dominate politics and government here - it would be nice to have a governor from South Jersey.

my vote in the general will be for whomever wins the democratic primary.

My husband and I actually agree that he was a decent governor 🤷‍♀️

We had no complaints under Christie.
Unless you lived in Ft Lee, or took NJT.

I used to like Jack - and then he went full Trumper

So, he’s a no for me now.

Cool, but not the real deal.

Now if Anthony Imperiale was still around…

I had to look him up because I had no idea.

Gotta agree with your assessment. He looks like a wise guy lol

South Jersey's it's own political machine too, but up here we have more Soprano's style government corruption.
;)
I’m in pretty tight with our county democrats - as in I know them all personally and Sweeney is a regular fixture around here.

They aren’t perfect, but they have good intentions. And that matters.

Actually got a call this morning they could use some volunteers at the county HQ today - so when I finish my grocery shopping I’ll swing by and see if there’s anything I can do from my house later.

I expect I’ll be making some more calls to get those mail in ballots back and chase our people and get them out to early voting. That’s normally what I get tapped for 😂
