The New Hampshire Union Leader has endorsed Chris Christie. How important is that?

2016 Election
Will The New Hampshire Union Leader’s Endorsement Help Chris Christie?

By Harry Enten

Chris Christie’s campaign has been
showing signs of life in New Hampshire of late. He could already point to his rising net favorability rating among Granite State Republicans, and over the weekend he added the New Hampshire Union Leader’s endorsement. The backing of the state’s biggest paper has historically been a leading indicator of how New Hampshire Republicans are likely to vote. Whether that will prove true for Christie is an open question. . . . .

Certainly can't hurt. I like Christie myself but I have reservations about whether he could beat Hillary.

Yep, Chris can take his place amongst the recent endorsements of Newt Gringrich, Steve Forbes, Pat Buchanan and Pete DuPont.

That Union Leader is indeed a leader in identifying Republican talent...

I'm not sure most endorsements are actually very valuable. I don't think they sway that many opinions other than those that were already leaning in a particular direction anyway. Maybe that's not the case here, but I think it is the case most of the time. By the time the nominees have been determined it doesn't take a genius to figure out who will be endorsing who.
