Israel will take over the entire Gaza Strip, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday, as the military announced it would carry out an "unprecedented attack" on Hamas.

Netanyahu said that, alongside the increased attacks, Israel would start allowing aid into Gaza again after stopping it in early March in a bid to make Hamas release hostages and surrender.

Netanyahu is getting a lot of push-back from around the world for the intentional starvation of civilians. Netanyahu said 'minimal' aid will go to Gaza to preserve U.S. support. Netanyahu also said that while Israel plans to take "all" of Gaza, he had to prevent mass starvation there for "practical and diplomatic reasons."

So feed the enemy in a war? That's what you are really saying. Hamas is the governing body for Gaza, what have they done for the people of Gaza? Looks like not a damned thing. Didn't provide jobs, industry, modernization, health care, infastructure, food, nothing. Just took and used them as sheilds. Got them into a war by their choice of actions against Israel. So now tell Israel to feed the enemy.

I can now assume that you are in favor of human beings, including children, being intentionally starved to death.
 

So you would promote Israel starving the people of Gaza to death because a grain of rice or a pinch of flour might go to feeding Hamas? Why not just bomb and kill absolutely everybody in the Strip? Why not just round up and shoot every single man, woman and child in the head just to be sure? Especially the children, because they are future Hamas recruits.

If we are going to dehumanize and objectify the civilian population of Gaza and call them "human shields" then let us just say that a full-on scouring and wiping out of Gaza's civilians is merely "striking and degrading Hamas's defenses."

Apparently the last time the Israelis only let in food and medicine, Hamas stole all of it and built tunnels with wet flour fortified with aspirin bottles.
 
Palestinians are not "Hamas".

Starving civilians to death? That's something you believe is allowed under international law?

Starving civilians to death is something you think decent people find acceptable?

Do you believe that “minimum” relief is going to prevent starvation? No, it will not. People who are in the throes of starvation might survive with hospitalization, IV fluids, and a lot of medical assistance. The “minimal“ food is not going to bring these people back from deaths door that are already knocking on it.

The last time relief trucks got through. The men in those trucks were all murdered, and they were buried in unmark graves along with the vehicles they came in.
 
Pretty sure people are just asking that food be allowed in, not that Israel has to provide it.

What is the attraction for you in watching something around a million people starve?

"Deplorable" doesn't begin to describe this sentiment....

Unfortunately, it's a feeling shared by far too many Americans, of all political persuasions.
 
Let's get real.

The problem is not that Israel has no duty to fight Hamas. The problem is not that it's absolutely verboten for Israel to re-occupy Gaza as long as Hamas is still in power. The problem is that Likud, especially its far right, is evil. And it's more than a little difficult to defend the concept of a country acting in according with their duty when the actors driving its behavior go above and beyond in the worst ways possible.

We know who Hamas is, right? That group who is happy to themselves die, who is sworn to kill all the Jews / destroy Israel / establish a global Islamic caliphate? Who can't do it so simply murder Jews until Israel responds - who admit that strategy openly and proudly? (And we know that in '06-07, they got >55% of the vote in the general government and also were made the government of Gaza; that's not justification for group punishment, but we have to recognize it if we want to be honest).

Israel needs to re-occupy. The problem is whether or not it will do the other things it needs to do with evil Likud in power; establish security, pay to rebuild, foster non-evil relations with Palestinians, establish aid supply chains that actually get straight to Palestinians.

I say that last thing because Hamas typically seizes half to two-thirds of aid delivery, distributes to their fighters, and sells the rest of the black market. Hamas treats Palestinians horribly. Nonetheless, starvation is monstrous to inflict. Israel should have established defended corridors for aid a very long time ago.

(Again, this isn't some complete defense. It's trying to see with a clear eye, with that nuance so many employ elsewhere)



But will Israel merely re-occupy? If it does, will it earnestly help rebuild? Or with Trump in America and the worst of Likud in charge, will they do the worst?






(Let's at least be honest about another thing: 52k dead, a mixture of terrorists and civilians, out of a population of 2.2 million, in a war that only ever happened because a terrorist group that operates in the densest most sympathetic areas, is not "genocide." It's just not. You can say true things about all sorts of horrible Israeli tactics under Likud. So why lie?)

You can make it a laughing matter all you'd want but your murdering, raping, kidnapping Islamist buddies stealing humanitarian aid and selling it had made them billions and is the main reason they're still able to control anything.
Finding a way to insert aid to Gaza's civilian population while it's not reaching Hamas' hands is a good thing.
 
Good. This is exactly what needs to happen. Hamas could stop this, of course, by simply releasing the hostages and accepting an unconditional surrender.

Children are not starving to death and Gaza's markets are still full as daily videos show, the rest is propaganda nonsense.
Israel allows in aid now because it can get to such situation, not because it's already gotten there.
The key point to remember is that Israel is committed to the destruction of Hamas, not Gaza's civilians, and it has every right to be.
