Near Riot in Hamilton County Court room

after corrupt Judge Tracy Hunter sentenced to 6 months in prison. Just watched the hearing where after years of appeals-state and federal, African American Judge Tracy Hunter was given 6 months in prison. Her appeals had been denied by numerous courts including Obama-Appointed Federal District Judge Tim Black and a Democrat US Magistrate-Judge. When the deputies came to take her, she went limp and forced the lady deputy to drag her out of the court house. This just happened so I will try to put some news reports on this thread. An angry crowd of mostly African American supporters of the disgraced former judge are still shouting and complaining.

That article makes it sound like she got eminently fair treatment along the way.

Anyway, that was quite the scene.

So apparently 5 years ago, she gave some documents to her brother who was being fired and was sentenced to 6 months and has been fighting it ever since.

This has been going on for years. I personally know Tim Black-once a pro choice (planned parenthood counsel) Republican, who ended up joining the dems and then being made a federal magistrate and then Federal judge by Obama. Smart smart guy, excellent judge. Karen Litkovitz, the magistrate, was a clerk for one of the earlier magistrates-wonderful person-breast cancer survivor, who is eminently fair, extremely thorough: I never had a clue what her politics were when she was a law clerk and later a magistrate. She also worked for the local Legal Aid society. Both of them held that the legal proceedings against Hunter were properly conducted.

I never appeared before the County Common Pleas judge who sentenced her-he was not elected until after I joined the DOJ, but he has a very good reputation among the bar and cops. Tracie Hunter's supporters have been yelling NO JUSTICE NO PEACE for hours now

She used her position as a judge to obtain those documents which is a big no no

Channel 19 (the only local news on now) has a reporter on the scene, she claims her supporters are
acting "irrationally" and have threatened some of the reporters. She noted that the protestors claim it was a "republican machine" that "framed" Tracie Hunter-which ignores the actions of Obama-Appointed Hon. Timothy Black.

Oh, yeah. I wasn't saying that she obeyed all the rules, I was just surprised that somehow this could be drawn out for 5 years.
 
Hunter was as corrupt as it gets and deserves more than 6 months. As for the rabble..what are they gonna do? Burn down their own neighborhoods again? Be my guest.

It went to just about every possible court short of the US Supreme Court. cost that taxpayers thousands of dollars.

One elderly well spoken black man that was interviewed said the community as a whole needs to "feel the pain" we do. I have no idea what that means but it seems rather threatening.

She was a judge. She knew the system and knew the people in the system. She seems to have pulled every string she could find for the past 5 years and just ran out of strings. The good news for her is that she's only getting 6 months. The way her supporters were acting it looked like she was going away for 60 years.
 

If you want people to comment, you should mention why this case is important. After reading the article, I still can't figure out why anyone would start a thread on this: a judge who was caught giving documents to her brother who had been fired?

What's the relevance? Why would anyone outside of Hamilton County give a ****?
 

But admit it, this group is really just extended family and family friends, yes?
This isn't the entire city.
 

I agree that the group is acting irrationally, very much so.
But it really IS just a handful of friends and extended family, none of who are employed in the legal system, yes?
Probably not all that political either, except when it comes to their judge-daughter/sister/friend/whatever.
 

A mob of miscreants threatens a race riot if a disgraced former judge is punished for even 1 out of 10 acts of corruption? I don’t know..what do you think the relevance is?
 

I could be wrong but this matter was discussed her awhile back. It has lots of drama-black lady judge uses her position to help her brother-GOP prosecutor goes after her-her supporters claim its GOP racism attacking this wonderful judge (in reality, she sucked as a judge but that has no relevance to her innocence or guilt)-Democratic Appointee on the federal bench stays her punishment for three years and then decides the state court proceedings were fair, clearing the way for a new trial judge (the original sentencing judge was precluded from running for reelection due to age) to sentence this woman

And when she is sentenced, a near riot by her supporters.
 

Some of those involved in demanding she not serve include the white Mayor of Cincinnati (A Harvard Law grad, nonetheless) and most of the black leadership in the area. Some of the latter were engaged in the shouting and hysterics and some have made what seem to be threats.
 
White guy would not even have been charged, yet alone sent to jail. Ask all those “good boys” with clean records, who screw underaged girls how it works.

you're lying. Hunter is a barking loon and Joe Deters correctly noted that she probably has mental illness.

FIVE YEARS of appeals. The people who showed up at the judge's house to harass the judge are scum and should be seen as such.

Other than trying to stir things up by trying to introduce racism where it is not evident, can you find a similar case where a corrupt white judge didn't get charged?
