Navy Officer Acquitted of Sexual Assault Charges

and some of the acquittals may be due to lack of evidence (he said, she said cases), not necessarily a finding of factual innocence.

76% sounds like pretty a high conviction rate.

It should be 100%...What it means is 24% were charged falsely......What if 24% of the people convicted of murder were innocent........Think about it my left wing friend.

Back before the PC military, there were rarely any sexual assaults or sexual harassment within the military.

Your right and one of the reasons was in the Navy we did not have females running around Navy Combatants.

It does not necessarily mean they were falsely accused.

I find the last paragraph interesting..In a quarter of all sexual assault cases in 24% the accused is acquitted.

It happened in 2009. She came forward in 2012. IMO, there should be a much shorter statute of limitations on these charges. Her drug test came back clean (next day). We simply cannot convict people on he-said/she-said testimony. That would be a gross miscarriage of justice, in my opinion.

I was on active duty then and he is right of course then there were few women in thr military.
Apparently, in the military, more men report sexual issues that women.
So pointing out that there were fewer woman doesn't really tell us much of anything.
It should be 100%
You are right, in an ideal world no one would be prosecuted except the guilty.
However, in the real world this isn't always the case. Sometimes innocent people are arrested and tried.
That's a large part of the reason why we have trials and courts instead of just arresting people and throwing them into prison.

A 76% conviction rate sounds as though it may be higher than the conviction rate in civilian courts.

There's nothing to cite because there was no problem before the military was being used for social engineering.
Of course. There're no records in the military of arrests, court proceedings etc.
We all know that the military is famous for eschewing paperwork and bureaucracy.

So easy to see why there wouldn't be any records.

or not. w/e

There has to be at least a few former WAVES, WAC's, SPARS or women Marines who are willing to come out and claim they were sexually assaulted by a male member in the military.

But there isn't.

If you were have served in the military before liberals started using the military for social engineering experimentation you would know why it didn't happen back then.

We do know that they aren't necessarily falsely accused because they are acquitted. They might and might not be.

That is the same in any trial....Tell us something we don't know.

This may be one of the most hilarious posts I have ever read. I was in the military before 'PC' days and sexual assaults and sexual harassment was common place. Of course, back then it wasn't considered sexual assault; itwas just considered boys being boys. Unfortunately some folks still believe that crap.

Hey Wiggen :2wave:

I always like hearing old sea stories from those who served on Gearing class DD's, Essex class carriers and Cleveland class gun cruisers.

If your post is a sea story I can't wait for your next sea story, keep them coming.
