Of course it is. I mean, why do non believers have to tip tow around believers and be sensitive to their religious feelings. I mean, isn't it the conservative mantra to say "grow some thick skin?" I really never under stood their do as i say, not as i do.
In all of these political forums, you see trash talk about the "other side". Why is it different for religion?
Because it doesn't call for it. Foaming at the mouth isn't a justification.
But is it called for in politics?
What possible objection would you have for granting Sainthood to a Native American Christian that is credited for healing the sick?
So you like to deride religion at any given moment. Good for you.

He derailed it by getting his feelings hurt and was complaining about it.
ok, if you say soHe was right to complain about it.
I am glad you agree that that is an awful way to behave. But as you observed, it is a two way street.Of course it is. Im not speaking about the story. Im talking about how the religious get all upset when non believers say something they don't like...
Nevermind, go back and read my post. Im not going to say it again: http://www.debatepolitics.com/break...american-catholic-saint-3.html#post1061065568
You are overgeneralizing about folks of faith. And it's not just a matter of "getting upset" when "non-believers say something they don't like." I don't have any problem with variant opinions; each individual's path is unique and uniquely chosen too.
But there are a few who go out of their way to be insulting. No matter what your belief or non-belief is, there isn't any reason to be disrespectful to those who don't share your opinion. No need to bash or to use terms/phrases guaranteed to inflame.
Don't kid a kidder; you know exactly what I'm talking about.
In not generalizing. Many people of faith get their feelings hurt when they hear things they dont like or when hypocrisy is called.
Why is it OK to offend those of a political philosophy, but heaven forbid, dont offend those of faith?
I hardly ever see people complain about offending one political philosophical points, but i always see people get their feelings hurt when someone says things like "fairytales" or "the buybull."
After all, people choose their political philosophy and their religion (or should i say brainwashed).
thats what im getting at.
Why is there a difference?
What a ridiculous question. Why is bigotry wrong and unacceptable while political disagreement is acceptible? The answer should be obvious.
Ummm, maybe you need to state the obvious for us.
I see no difference in choosing a religion or a political philosophy
A religion is no more a choice than ethnicity or skin color or gender. It is a personal calling from a higher power and he religious person has no choice on the matter. That you need this explained to you is absurd, you are clearly being purposefully difficult to justify your odious prejudices.

WHAT????
Please explain this.
If you honestly belief religion is a choice, why don't you try choosing to believe in Christianity, and let me know how it works out for you.

You're just talking a lot of nonsense. It is the "accept it" part that is not a choice. Don't believe me? Just try choosing to accept it.it's really simple. Subject yourself to the christian teachings, accept it, and wammo!
Let me ask you this. When you are born, what religion are you (no you in general, but people of the world).

I'd prefer a bottle in front of me.
