Nationwide 'People's Sick Day' set to cripple U.S. as Trump protesters plot mass walkout

Cool! A bunch of people did this in high-school, in a park in New York. If I remember correctly, it worked out pretty well, and the protests achieved their goals.

Surprised it's taken this long for people to do it again.

Fat chance any of that will happen...useless sick days or not...

This is really dumb. Both the method and (some of) their demands. A small handful of morons walk off their jobs because they want price controls on rent and groceries. Why would anyone even care, aside from their employers? Do they really think there's any chance that a Republican Congress and Donald Trump are going to pass a law codifying DEI?

When asked what a tangible success for their movement would look like, Marie said that just the visuals of empty stores and workplaces would be a success.
So these clowns don't even care about actually accomplishing anything, they just think they need time off work to virtue-signal.

"I'm striking because - after three elections of voting for the horrible orange creature - I finally woke up and saw how his policies are doing horrible damage to American workers, immigrants with or without documents, the people of Palestine, the LGBTQ+ community, and millions of other human beings," one participant wrote.
Is this movement even real, or is it just right-wing trolls?

That's quite the list of demands for some people not going to work for a few days.

You sure you're not an undercover conservative masquerading as a liberal, Gatsby? What other option does the little guy have to try to make the f*ckheads in DC listen to them? The unions have used strikes for over a century and it has produced results for them. I don't have to list the benefits striking has brought to workers?

So tell us. How do 300 million Americans hurting from Trump's economy go up against 992 well-placed, well-funded billionaires who have bought the Federal government lock, stock and barrel?

I think the commenter who claimed he voted for Trump three times in a row, but has finally seen the light, and then goes on to give a shout-out to every single leftist talking point (Palestine, LGBTQ, illegal immigrants, blah blah blah) is quite possibly an undercover conservative masquerading as a liberal. That sure is a lot of political evolution in the span of 8 months. Bonus points since it's just unfocused slop rather than a narrow demand for one particular thing.
What other option does the little guy have to try to make the f*ckheads in DC listen to them?
By winning elections.

Usually union strikes are aimed at extracting concessions from their employers...i.e. the ones who they are striking against. Not at convincing a Republican Congress and President to codify DEI and put price controls on groceries.

Their main goal is to have Trump actually comment on this. Only then will they have some credibility.

That's quite the list of demands for some people not going to work for a few days.
What a bizarre statement. What do you think they should do to fit the list more? It's a very good list, and an appropriate act of protest. What is wrong with people criticizing good citizenship?

What is undercover about their obvious conservative posts?

They aren't fooling anyone.

Trump only hears about what his handlers want him to hear about.

For starters, they should narrow it down. They don't need 21 demands, especially when they're asking a Republican Congress and president. Ask for one or two. They can start by eliminating all the items that are really dumb and/or will definitely not happen, like price controls on groceries. Maybe just ask for the "Hands off Medicaid" and "No tax cuts for the rich," since those are good policies, things that have been in the news very recently, and plausible policy goals in American politics.

It's a very good list, and an appropriate act of protest. What is wrong with people criticizing good citizenship?
When you criticize everything, you criticize nothing. Anyone who wants to read a laundry list of DSA goals can probably find it on their website. Do they really need a single walkout from work to address grocery prices, Medicaid costs, CEO salaries, the electoral college, and the taxation of some particular churches they dislike?

Practically every post you make is attacking Joe Biden and/or praising Donald Trump...but left-ishly, of course. No, clearly you are very sincere in your political views. That's just how it happens to shake out.

The demands start off remotely sane at the top, but go full commie pipe dream near the bottom.

A few of you are misunderstanding that list. The organizers don't want these all at once. They're realists. They know such a thing could never be accomplished in four years, let alone a few months. What that list represents are goals rather than demands.

Good luck with that. This country is so apathetic they would vote for a PEDO reality star.

No, they're not. Realists would trim the list down to something more reasonable to draw more supporters for a more effective protest.
They know such a thing could never be accomplished in four years, let alone a few months. What that list represents are goals rather than demands.

And if you talk about the people who are below the poverty line, that's 60% of us, so over 200 million of us against less than a quarter of that. Right? So I would say, first, check the numbers.

I checked the numbers: Ms. Marie is delusional.

Secondly, look at history. Look at history. History has shown us that it has worked," said Karress Marie, one of the main organizers of the People's Sick Day.

I'm a student of history: She remains delusional.

I wish her all the best and hope she succeeds, but I'm not seeing it.
