Narcissism is driven by self-loathing not self love. It's a defence mechanism. Those people you speak of were just careless.

It's really the fault of the boating crew that these people weren't in life jackets. The rule is usually... get in a life jacket, or you don't get on the boat.

We can laugh at how stupid the influencers were but there are always stupid people when it comes to safety procedures. That's why there are rules, and clearly the rules were not enforced.
