LOL, well West Texas might better suit your point.
Dallas is more like far south Chicago these days. I wish the north would get their **** together and stop moving down here.
Moderator's Warning: Haymarket, Rev, knock it off. Stick to the topic.
Because this is about NJ, not NYC. Start a thread about how Bloomberg ****ed up and then we can discuss that. Or are you trying to derail the thread yet again because the facts dont suit you? That is after all your normal operating procedure.
Your links says nothing of what you state. Weather changes all the time, but that storm was for warned days in advanced. We even got reports about it in Europe that it was developing.
24 inches of snow in a day or two is massive. Plus in areas it was much more, and with the wind factor then it gets really bad. So dont play dumb.
Plus if it was "normal" snow fall, does that not mean that your state and your leader was incompetent to even deal with that? At least with an unexpected snow fall he has an excuse, but if as you claim it is "normal" then what excuse does he have then for not doing his freaking job? Why did it take so long to clear roads? Why did the state ground to a near halt if it was "normal" snow fall? Why did airlines cancel every flight if it was "normal" snowfall?
And as your own link stated.. a record heat wave.. aka out of the ordinary.. And you stated
which clearly says... A French heat wave where 30k people died. That is false. 14802 died in France. Across Europe, from Portugal to Russia, 35k died in the worst heat wave seen for over a century. And again you avoided the fact that the normal summer temperature does not require homes be cooled down by air conditioners and hence most European countries do not have them.
And again, I can not state this enough, we were seeing 100F+ temperatures across Europe in areas that had never seen such high temperatures and these temperatures lasted for weeks. In the Netherlands it reached almost 38 degrees (98ish F) for a considerable amount of time, in a country that barely gets above 30c (86F) during the summer.
So are you telling me that on the off chance that the temperatures once in several centuries may reach insane levels that European houses have to be equipped with air condition? Why dont you answer that? Or will you as usual ignore the obvious?
Actually you were caught out yet again. Your own comments doomed you.
The answer to your question is because the NFL made the decision, not the state of PA. And what does the NFL and Pennsylvania's football stadium have to do with NJ and Christie? Here's a dumbed down version for you:
Nothing.
up until about 6 hours before the storm hit, it wasn't supposed to be that big, and even after it hit, it was just a freaking snow storm, we get them in the winter. /facepalm
This guy is a duchbag. He ordered the diversion of local snow clearing machines to clear state roads and then blame the mayors for not doing their jobs.. hope he gets booted out at the next election or is impeached for incompetence.
Gov. Christie praises his administration for work done after blizzard, chastises mayors for local efforts | NJ.com
Got to love these quotes.
Do people expect Governor Mike Michaels (or whatever his redundant name is) to shovel the snow himself? He'd have a heart attack.
Well it looks like the blizzard created more "shovel ready" jobs in 12 hours than Obama has in 18 months. :ssst:
I am from New Hampshire, so I know about these storms. The forecast was for heavy snow all up and down the northeast coastal region... He knew what was coming.
I don't care if it was God Almighty that made the decision. My point was that in both instances, there was a threat of a crisis. Strickland was heavily criticized for going on his planned trip, while the same critics give Christie a big ole green light. It's obvious partisanship at it's finest.
PS. The answer to your question "And what does the NFL and Pennsylvania's football stadium have to do with NJ and Christie?" is simple. The same storm hit 'em both.
yeah, when I was a kid in the 80s, I could make 75-100 bucks a snowstorm... loved them...

I'm still waiting on someone to present the nonexistent proof that this was forecast to be a snowstorm in the Philly, N.J., New York area 48 hours before it hit. Got any ???
The NFL was heavily criticised by most, including the Dem governor of PA, Rendell who called them wussies. They only got around 6 inches at the stadium.
Are you saying that Christie was not aware of the strom before he left for Florida?
Are you saying that Christie was not aware of the strom before he left for Florida?
I keep telling you. You just rather be a partisan hack about all this so i cant help ya anymore.
It was a snow storm predicted to miss us and be minor until THAT morning.
Still it was a snow storm.... We oPlowed and moved on. Like always.
Are you saying that Christie was not aware of the strom before he left for Florida?
I would like to know what difference any of it made, except the ultra-galactic partisan hacks are trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. Did Obama visit every stinking flood and earthquake site? Did the governor of NJ have an effective emergency management system? Does anyone else besides me have a management degree, and can plainly see the problem with the complaints?Depends on when he left....I haven't seen that reported anywhere.

LOL. I ask a question and I get called a partisan hack. Please tell me where I said Christie did a bad thing by going to Florida. Here's a hint... I didn't. But rest assured I have little doubt that if Christie were a Democrat, you'd be all over him.
I like how you dumb it down. To me, a crisis is a crisis. If this storm was supposed to be soooo typical, why was a football game cancelled because of it's threat? Bottom line, I have little doubt that if Christie was a Democrat, he'd be feeling your wrath, but because he's a Republican, he gets a pass. Got it, Rev.

Snow storms are notorious for getting politicians in trouble. But with that said, you have a point, maybe we should go back and see what some of these same posters said about Obama's response to the oil spill in the Gulf in response to criticism...I'd wager we could almost substitute the lines drawn on criticism....lol

Natural disasters in general I'd say...
