How do you all feel about this,, me personally I have no issue with it, most states allow felons to buy muzzle and certain breech loaders, for the purpose of hunting as well as the fact the atf does not list them as firearms. I am sure some people would oppose, myself I can buy any firearm on the shelf short of those requireing a tax stamp, and I could likely get that tax stamp. I love blackpowder firearms though however for reformed felons that is all they can legally own in many states.
What is your opinion on the sunject
Once a person pays their dues and serves their time then their full rights should be restored automatically. If they're not trustworthy enough to own a gun then they're not trustworthy enough to be out on the streets.
I agree to an extent, how I view it the punishment should fit the crime, meaning their right to arms should only be infringed if they are convicted of abusing that right. many felons are not violent felons who abused that right, so in my ming they should not be restricted from owning.
On the same note I believe a felon should be allowed to vote with the exception being those that abused that right and committed voter fraud.
This strikes me as eminently reasonable.I agree to an extent, how I view it the punishment should fit the crime, meaning their right to arms should only be infringed if they are convicted of abusing that right. many felons are not violent felons who abused that right, so in my ming they should not be restricted from owning.

I agree completely. To many people get classified as felons and the way it's set up is one size fits all. Where a lot of felons are no more violent than my cat. This strikes me as eminently reasonable.
Before a Constitutional Right is removed, there should be a very high & narrowly defined bar as to specifically why the right should be removed, and it would seem to me that bar should be limited to something involving the right itself, as you've done here.
Right so just commit murders with knifes so you can keep your gun rights
Felonies are supposed to be crimes of moral turpitude, just doing your punishment should not be enough to restore rights. You should have to show that you deserve to have them back.
Depending on your cat, they may well be true! :2razz:I agree completely. To many people get classified as felons and the way it's set up is one size fits all. Where a lot of felons are no more violent than my cat.
