You know that my friends are violating some rule?

They were just invoking the practice of taqiyya. Muslims have a religious duty to deceive non-Muslims if it furthers the cause of Islam.

So, they will lie right to your face and Islam supports that. Meanwhile, they will be planning how to kill more non-believers.

Can we just be real? Our sacred founding document, the Declaration of Independence makes reference to “merciless Indian Savages,” hardly in line with “all men are created equal” and rights to “life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” Both ugliness and beauty have been the legacies of most all creeds.

Denial of what? Should we all shun Catholicism because of some priests have molested minors? Should we shun Judaism because of the minority of Jews who throw Palestinians out of their homes in the West Bank? Should we shun Mormonism because of the small minority that still practice polygamy? Should we shun Protestantism because of the People’s Temple teachings and actions?

Denial that when Muslims commit the atrocities that we call terrorism, they are obeying the letter of the Qur'an and copying the example set by Mohamed and the first Muslims.

You forgot to include “a fraction of” prior to Muslims. Much as I might be corrected for blaming all Catholics for the atrocities we call child molestation, or all Jews for the small number of Jews that engage in ethnic cleansing in the West Bank, or all Protestants for Jim Jones.

But ok, I can admit that some troublesome things in the Koran exist and may have inspired terrorism. Now what? — what should our message be to Muslims in the US and elsewhere? Bring back Trump’s Muslim ban? Put armbands on Muslims so we can be more careful? (There’s precedent for that.) Should we break off relations with the Saudi’s because they developed the theory some Muslims act on? Quick, tell the Trumps!
