Mueller Finds No Trump-Russia Conspiracy but Stops Short of Exonerating President on Obstruction of Justice - The New York Times

WASHINGTON — The investigation led by Robert S. Mueller III found that neither President Trump nor any of his aides conspired or coordinated with the Russian government’s 2016 election interference, according to a summary of the special counsel’s findings made public on Sunday by Attorney General William P. Barr.

Mr. Barr also said that Mr. Mueller’s team drew no conclusions about whether Mr. Trump illegally obstructed justice. Mr. Barr and the deputy attorney general, Rod J. Rosenstein, concluded that the special counsel’s investigators lacked sufficient evidence to establish that Mr. Trump committed that offense, but added that Mr. Mueller’s team stopped short of exonerating Mr. Trump.

What about those private meetings with Putin? Something stinks. And Trump denying that Russia meddled in the 2016 election despite the conclusions reached by our intelligence people? And Trump never having anything negative to say about Putin?

or attempts at a secret backchannel. or not releasing the full report. or firing the head of the FBI. or firing Ernie Keebler, the perjury elf. or everything else.

I could spend the rest of the day listing the things that don't add up, Like Trump lying during the campaign that he had no business in Russia while at the same time working hard to build Trump Tower Moscow. And Ivanka lying in an interview that she had nothing to do with the Moscow Tower when Cohen said he had briefed Trump's family 10 times.

yep, it's sort of bizarro world these days. looks like he's rich and powerful enough to skate on the federal stuff. hope that he enjoys his New York state issues. time to flush the toilet via the 2020 elections. he has served a purpose, though. he has shown us how a president can manipulate the system. we'd do well to remove some loopholes.

No collusion, no Obstruction of justice. Time to "Let it go"

From Muller's report:

“The Special Counsel’s investigation did not find that the Trump campaign or anyone associated with it conspired or coordinated with Russia in its efforts to influence the 2016 U.S. presidential election.”

I agree that something does not add up. Its almost sounds like Barr is amongst a cover up.

Not what I expected. It's just BS. A pro-Trump conspiracy from Barr? From Mueller? From both? I hope the House gets into this BS. It's an obvious white wash job.

Actually it was collusion. Mueller did not opine on obstruction of justice. The latter was Barr's opinion, a man that said a President can not obstruct justice.

That all said, I have believed and continue to believe that the problem with Trump is his personal corruption and financial entanglements with Russia. It seems that investigation is going on in New York. We will see how that goes.

I am glad the Mueller investigation has come to a close. But, we still need to see the entire report and we need to have Mueller and Barr testify before congress. While the legal aspect of this particular matter (not the 17 other investigations that continue) is winding down, the political aspect remains ahead. Trump should have have surrounded himself with so many corrupt individuals and should have down a much better job of supporting the investigation as it was on going. Trump has made himself look guilty as sin in all of this, and that will hurt him in the political phase.

Sane people don’t care anymore because all the accusations were lies

Good grief! They were not lies. They were very valid concerns of Americans given that Russia interfered in our election; interfered on behalf of Trump; Trump never renounced the interference NOR did anything to protect America from further cyber attacks; and Trump surrounded himself with LOTS of corrupt people with deep Moscow ties. To not investigate such would have been gross negligence.

Good thing sane people want to see the actual Muller report.

WOW NO COLLUSION, NO OBSTRUCTION, you libs were 100% certain Trump colluded with the Russians, you lost. You were 100% certain SCJ Kavanaugh was a gang leader rapist, you lost. You were 100% certain Crooked Hillary was going to win the presidency, you lost.

Mueller seems to have done as thorough a job as he could, and while we will never know if there was something illegal done by Trump and/or his campaign in the matter of collusion and/or obstruction of justice, it seems like there was no way to prove it. I believe Mueller when he says that he didn't find sufficient evidence to conclude that there was a crime, but wouldn't exonerate the president either.

Anyway, that's it. If proof could have been found, I believe that Mueller would have found it. Therefore, it is time to honor the American judicial system's tradition of "innocent until proven guilty" and give the president the benefit of the reasonable doubt, and let go.

It is time for the Dems to focus on a viable candidate and an appealing platform for 2020. Insisting in beating on this dead horse will lead nowhere and will be politically damaging.

Let go, folks. Either there wasn't anything there, or there was but it was done in a skillful enough way that it can't be proven, and even if there was, reasonable doubt due to the lack of proof, would still apply.

Continuing to insist would stink of denial and spite. The Democrats should not do what the Republicans did with Benghazi. It's a dead horse. Don't beat on it. Period, full stop.

It is abundantly clear that Trump will finish his first term. The effort now should be one of preventing him from earning a second term, through the sovereign will of the American voters. Any talk of impeachment now, is beyond ridiculous.

So...

1. No collusion. End of that story.

2. Obstruction of justice. Mueller kicked that can down the road, which means the can is effectively lost and, if the Trump haters didn't hate him so much, forgotten.

What I find interesting is the "Status of the Department's Review". This section basically tells Congress to go pound sand if they want the complete report. That's gonna chap some ass.

Muellers going to get him...Indictments this week, Mueller is going to have him arrested Mueller...is...what? Well...OK...so no evidence of collusion...but that doesnt mean it didnt happen!!!

You live in your hatred.

Well, actually, from the summary produced by Barr. Maybe, even probably, it reflects the contents of the report. But the report itself is not the source of this quote.

I'm glad the conspiracy part is over. I have always been on the side that believes if Trump is guilty of anything it is likely financial crimes and not necessarily related to some type of collusion. Hopefully we can drop the talk of collusion now and allow all of the open investigations into his financial dealings to continue. If there is any meat it will be there.

I agree that something does not add up. Its almost sounds like Barr is amongst a cover up.

Imagine if you will that it turns put a US president conspired to steal an election with the help of a hoatile foreign government , and is successful.

And an investigation determines this for a fact.

What the hell happens then?

Do his supporters go on a spree?

Is anything he's done, any legislation he's signed actually legitimate? Does it need to he rolled back?

I've said for a while that worst case scenario they might just let it go rather than deal with the aftermath.
