If you owned an NFL team and you could be guaranteed one person who was the absolute best at their job and they would be with your team for the next 10 years, who would you choose? I would probably choose a head coach, although quarterback and GM make sense to me as well. One instance to support my theory is the Patriots doing well even while Brady was out and the Colts going down the tubes the season Manning was hurt.

I mean the patriots didn’t make the playoffs when brady went down...
Seems a bit anecdotal on the reasoning.
I would definitely take a QB.
They were 11-5 the season Cassell played while Brady was injured and 12-4 with Garoppolo starting the season with Brady suspended. The Colts were 2-14 without Manning.

Given the patriots record in the past 18 years that’s a failure

Yeh absolutely and supports my point.
The guy that comes out and holds the ball during kick-offs on windy days... I want that guy.
I don't think so, unless you would agree that Garoppolo and Cassell are pretty close to the quality of Brady, since their records are pretty close to his. Do you think Garappolo and Cassell would've had 11 or more wins with the 2011 Colts?
An MVP caliber QB can make or break a franchise over a 10 year span. But with that said, head coaches aren't often at risk of injury so I'd take a genius of a coach like Bill Billicheck, or Mike Tomlin.
Cassell played in a much better unit than the colts qb when Peyton went down. Colts tanked that season as well because they wanted Luck.
Point is the colts haven’t been back to a SB since Peyton left and the patriots missed out on the playoffs which is unthinkable now under Brady. Again only 11 QBs have won more than 1 SB, a franchise QB is key to any organization if they want to win multiple titles.
What, do you want me to prove it with a physics equation? What's your reasoning?
Certainly more than 1 season of 1 team compared with 1 season of a different team
My reasoning is that the most impact can be made on the field and the QB is the most important position on the field. If you look at top QBs in thier prime with a bad coach they fare much better than experienced good coach’s with a bad QB
Tomlin a genius? Lol
Man had a future. HOF QB, wR and RB this year and last but couldn’t make the SB
Even thought the Pats missed the playoffs, they had a record of 11-5. Brady's gone 11-5 or worse 4 times.
And the Colts were left with Andrew Luck. I'll bet he could've won a Super Bowl elsewhere by now. I'll bet if Brady retired and Luck went to the Pats next year, he would probably win one within the next few years.
I don't totally disagree with you though, I think having a great QB is hugely important and am not downplaying Brady at all. I just give a slight edge to coaching.
He's also a coach with a .659 win record and a superbowl ring. If we're talking presently active HCs, only Bill Billicheck and Mike McCarthy can say they have a better winning record and a superbowl ring.
Well we could be about to find out because McDaniel’s just said no to the Colts. So either lucks injury is worse than we thought or Bill is leaving
