Trumpsters like to blame the media for Trump’s troubles.

Trump does too! Playing the victim is a big part of his act, and it’s “white” victimhood he has played to in the past.

But corona doesn’t care what you skin color or bank balance is, so it’s a universal crisis.

Trump is not equipped to lead in such a crisis. His instincts are to play to weaknesses in people, play on fear and division.

The exact opposite of what is needed now. And it is precisely the skill set that Trump and his team do not possess.

And everyone knows it.

Which is why none of us draw any particular comfort or confidence in what Trump says.

Trump has defined himself as incompetent, and more interested in managing the news cycle than in managing a crisis.

We all know that.

And Trump will have to pull out an absolute miracle if he expects to change that perception of his weakness, selfishness and lack of leadership skills.
