MMT and Taxes

I don't disagree with that.

I said that resources are scarce for the poor.

What do you think the word "poor" means?

I'm trying to figure out what resources you are talking about but you won't tell me. They have food. They have housing. They have basically free medical care. They have welfare. They have smartphones. They have big screen tv's. They have pets. They have cigarettes. They have alcohol. They have lottery tickets. What resources are you talking about?

No, they don't have all of those things, which is why your tone deaf lies hold no water.

That is the part that is incorrect. The poor lack money, they lack resources; that's why they're poor.

But what resources do they lack? They have housing. They have food. They have free healthcare. They have smartphones. They have big screen tv's. They have cigarettes. They have alcohol. They have pets, and they have lottery tickets. They don't lack any resources. You say the rich don't need money in the bank because money in the bank does not contribute to the economy so why would the poor need money in the bank?

You are very confused on this issue. The rich have all of those things, the poor do not. That is why the poor run out of money, but the rich do not.

The poor have them all. What of those resources does the poor not have? Your last sentence goes against everything you have ever said. The poor have what they need to survive and you DON'T want them to have any money in the bank. You WANT them to spend all of their money because it is good for the economy. If you don't think the rich should have any money in the bank then why do you think the poor should have any money in the bank?

What a crock.

honeslty.. how can you even begin to think that a child growing up in a poor family.. has exactly the same opportunity to make something of themselves as a child who grows up in a rich family?

The poor lack resources; that is why they are poor. That's just what the word means.

There are two cycles in our economy. There is the consumption cycle and the production cycle. We need balance between these two cycles in order to maximize growth. The consumption cycle fuels demand and the production cycle fuels supply. You won't have one without the other because nobody is going to waste money on goods that people aren't buying (not enough demand), and because nobody is going to be able to buy goods if nobody is producing them (not enough supply).

You have, without realizing it, endorsed a view that slows down our economy so that the rich don't have to compete.

What resources? I already asked you that before and apparently the question was too complicated. Once again, what resources?

Well lets see.. since I am rich.

I just bought my son a Texas Instruments graphing calculator to the tune of 150 dollars.. which make it way easier for him to do his math homework.. his chemistry work, his physics problems etc.

Since it helps him solve problems faster, if he runs into a problem,, he can ask his teacher, get feedback and get back to solving the whole problem faster and understand quicker.. than many of the kids in the class that don't have access to a graphing calculator.

the poor kids in my sons class don't have access to a graphing calculator at school or home like my son has.

Just one easy example of a resource the wealthy have in the school over the poor kids.

What a crock.

I didn't say that. Don't turn into a lefty on me, twisting my words. I merely said that poor people do all have the opportunity to make something of themselves. Oprah Winfrey is just one example. There are many examples and many of them are people you wouldn't even recognize their names but there are still many where you would recognize their names. Why on Earth would Oprah have had a successful life? There was no reason for her not growing up poor and living a life dependent on welfare. Actually, there was a reason - she was Oprah and she wanted a better life than living in the swamp.

Again, what resources do they lack? They have everything. They have places to live. They have food. They have free healthcare. They have smartphones. The have big screen tv's. They have pets. They have cigarettes. They have alcohol. They have lottery tickets. What else do they need? And, you yourself say that the rich shouldn't have money in the bank, so why do you think the poor need money in the bank?

You didn't have to buy your son a graphing calculator. Are you saying that if one of the poor in your son's class needed a graphing calculator that he couldn't get one somehow? The school doesn't have any programs to help him get one? His Church doesn't have any programs to help him get one? I'm betting that if they had really tried they would have been able to get him one for free, while you had to pay 150 dollars for your son's. Hell, if he would have started a gofundme page for the calculator he would have probably collected five thousand dollars.

They dictate what they demand, and they run out of money before they get it all. That makes them less productive in the long run, and it makes our economy less prosperous in the long run, but it means the wealthy get a hefty population of poor people to exploit.
