Within minutes of physically embracing his new running mate Paul Ryan on a Norfolk, Va., stage, Mitt Romney was distancing himself from Ryan’s controversial House budget proposal.
Because he knows that the right wing doesn't trust him, so he went out and found the most conservative available and that happens to be Paul Ryan. :lamo
Why the hell would he pick him then?

Does this mean Mitt Romney is adopting the Paul Ryan plan?
• Gov. Romney applauds Paul Ryan for going in the right direction with his budget, and as president he will be putting together his own plan for cutting the deficit and putting the budget on a path to balance.
• Romney’s administration will go through the budget line by line and ask two questions: Can we afford it? And, if not, should we borrow money from China to pay for it?
• Mitt Romney will start with the easiest cut of all: Obamacare, a trillion-dollar entitlement we don’t want and can’t afford.
The Ryan Plan is the Republican plan (voted several times in the House) so what's the harm in Romney endorsing it? Could it possibly be that it's too extreme? And shouldn't Romney be more forthcoming with his own plan? And the champions of "honesty" turn a blind eye once again. What the Romney campaign actually said doesn't match the headline nor the rhetoric of what can only be described as a hit piece:
If Romney HADN'T said exactly this, the play would be say he doesn't have his own ideas and is relying on the bottom of the ticket, the man who won't be in charge, to fill it in.
You know it would be.

Do you project much, Harshaw?

um.... no. Ryan is many things, but "the most conservative one available" is not it. McDonnel, Santorum, Perry, et. al. would have been more conservative choices - Ryan was in favor of Mitch Daniels' "Truce On Social Issues" proposal.
Romney has quickly and effectively taken one line of attack away from the Democrats.
Any Democrats who insist on talking about the Ryan Budget will expose themselves as the hysterical demagogues they truly are.
Really? Why is that?
Why is what?
You're distinguishing social conservatives from fiscal conservatives.
Um, referring to your statement that I quoted: "Any Democrats who insist on talking about the Ryan Budget will expose themselves as the hysterical demagogues they truly are."
Why is talking about the Ryan budget a sign of hysterical demagoguery?
You're distinguishing social conservatives from fiscal conservatives.

Conservatives would vote in a tomato can over Obama
