Whether we like him or not, he's still a leader in the republican party. Mitch is one of the savviest people in congress. I don't have to like him in order to know when he's right.

I agree that he possesses great understanding about the people and processes of politics. What I find genuinely appalling is using his knowledge, not to lead, but to time his words and actions until the exact moment when they will produce the most political benefit for him. He is not a leader; he's an opportunist.
