I guess it just doesn't bother me. Frankly they need places like that. If I wasn't bilingual, I'd probably hang out a sign that says "speak English or get out" (in Spanish) in the window of my establishment. Therefore I can't fault Jose for not wanting to serve the gringo devil.
It just takes more for me to endorse additional legislature beyond someone's feelings. Life isn't fair. Often, people suck. And the wheels on the bus go 'round and 'round. Learn to deal.

Laws were created to address the fact that people suck. It's what the social contract is all about, so to dismiss anti-racist laws on the basis that life is unfair or that people suck has missed out on the last 6000+ years of history.
As the spokesperson for uber-lefties everywhere we do not favor unchecked state power. I don't know if you've noticed but we're not exactly dancing in the streets at the advent of the government spying on its citizens, the war on drugs or the numerous hits on civil liberties in the name of security.
Know what happens when you attempt to force people that suck into not sucking against their will? They suck even more - but now with a just voice.
It's situations like this where I keep reiterating Voltaire. I don't agree with most of these assholes, but I'll defend their right to be assholes. There is no justifiable censorship.

They favor the power the same was as über-righties do, but with concentrations in different areas. You can't have a command economy without command in very specific social arenas.

It's all very well until their asshole behavior ends up infringing on the rights of others. Anyway, I've already agreed that the rules against business discrimination are a gray area.

You think you're outside of the spectrum by not putting yourself in with uber-rightie and uber-leftie, but you're really right smack on it. Libertarianism in your sense is very much an extreme position, and it allows the strong to prey on the weak. Again, the reason for that whole social contract thingie.

Madison Mayor Paul Soglin added, “It’s time for Wisconsin for to join the 21st century and do the right thing. Eventually, we will recognize same-sex marriage – and the sooner, the better.”
Katie Belanger of Fair Wisconsin spoke at the events in Madison and in Milwaukee, advocating for equality at home.
“Wisconsin’s antiquated and discriminatory laws banning marriage equality and civil unions are bad for our people and our economy, and put our entire state at a disadvantage to our more welcoming neighbors,” she said.
