England's Top Man at MI5 is putting out this warning. Do you think the rest of the West will ignore what the Brits are saying? Do you think BO and his Team were given one of the First calls? What say ye?

The head of Britain's domestic spy agency MI5 warned on Thursday that militant Islamists in Syria were planning "mass casualty attacks" in the West and that intelligence services may be powerless to stop them.

"We know... that a group of core al-Qaeda terrorists in Syria is planning mass casualty attacks against the West," Andrew Parker told journalists in London a day after an Islamist attack in Paris claimed 12 lives.....snip~

I thought it was MI6? What's this MI5 crazy talk?

"Never happen". Heard that a million times. But if it does, it wont be terror and it wont be "real muslims".

As to the OP...honestly, I think militants have never STOPPED planning attacks against the west. Their religion compels them to do so.

I think the only thing that has changed, is that some people are just now beginning to realize just how vulnerable we are...we've had such narrow thinking in terms of the forms terrorism can take...and the french shooting has likely trashed some of those securities.

I think there's a whole bunch of loyal Americans saying, "What's taking them so long??" I always go back to what an acquaintance told me, probably 11-12 years ago. He's a very interesting man. A "code savant" -- completely socially inept -- genius IQ. Visiting with him is like having Google live by your side. He said that the west has made it very clear to radical Muslim leadership that if they 'go too far,' Mecca will be destroyed. *shrug*

Yea. Just who will destroy Mecca? It wont be us. Maybe Israel. But not us.

Hot dam, but ain't these the same "moderate rebels," fighting Bashar Assad in Syria, that we
have been funding and arming. Now Bashar Assad seems to be the only one who has any
success in fighting these rebels and we are arming and funding the rebels. They's a little
something wrong with the picture here, methinks. Like 16 Saudi Nationals doing 9/11. So
we help the Saudis fly out of the Country. I don't guess that, as long as we are funding and
arming these rebels that they would bite the hand that feeds them, unless "the hand" was
not trustworthy and developed "frenemies" as standard operating procedure, eh? I'm
being facetiou here, don't ya' know, using the truth.

Mornin' Kevin.:2wave: It appears the UK is also expecting attacks from AQ. Funny thing.....he was going to give this speech before the attack in Paris. Moreover.....they had been in touch with us. going back to the last 2 weeks of Dec. When our people started picking things up, thru the chatter. As BO calls it.

But spies in Europe and the United States have been troubled that al Qaeda militants from Pakistan have appeared in wartorn Syria, in what some intelligence analysts say could be part of a plot to mount a major attack against the West.

Thursday's stark warning from one of the West's most influential spymasters mirrors a growing concern among Western political leaders and their Arab allies about the threat from the cauldron of militant groups in Syria and Iraq......snip~

Heya DF :2wave: Some.....the major concern are all the Pakistani AQ and ISIS sympathizers showing up there.

Mornin' Crue. :2wave: The Brits said they stopped 3 within the last month. Moreover they have been vocal about the issue.

Nah. AQ is on the run and Bin Laden is dead.

Yea. Just who will destroy Mecca? It wont be us. Maybe Israel. But not us.

Why not? Do we not produce terrorists of our own?

Mecca being destroyed does not have to be the act of a government...and let's face it....you piss a guy off enough...he's gonna be willing to break the law to make you stop.

Once again, I am sympathetic to your refrain, however AQ is the group that came from Wahhabis in Saudi Arabia and we armed and funded them in Afghanistan and ISIS is allied with these alleged "moderate rebels" we arm and fund to fight Bashar Assad so we can get OIL, Gas, and Pipeline R.O.W.s to the Mediterranean. I mean to say , with clarity, that we are not fighting for some mythic holy grail in Syria, but for CORPORATE hegemony. I wouldn't be surprised if many Muslims in the MidEast noticed what are motives really are. The MIC needs the Terror War, the Drug War, the Police War, and especially the Fear War. We are the victims, my friend. I gotta go shovel some snow. See ya later.

Heya Maggie.
Our People issued out a Worldwide Alert middle of last month. Due to threats on our interests and people.

This Travel Alert expires on March 19, 2015.....

An analysis of past attacks and threat reporting strongly suggests a focus by terrorists not only on the targeting of U.S. government facilities but also on hotels, shopping areas, places of worship, and schools, among other targets, during or coinciding with this holiday period. *U.S. citizens abroad should be mindful that terrorist groups and those inspired by them can pose unpredictable threats in public venues. U.S. citizens should remain alert to local conditions and for signs of danger.

We strongly recommend that U.S. citizens traveling abroad enroll in the Department of State's Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). STEP enrollment gives you the latest security updates, and makes it easier for the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate to contact you in an emergency. If you don't have Internet access, enroll directly with the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate.....snip~

Well, at least one of the many sects under the Islam umbrella compels the radicals to continue to plan and execute attacks against the infidels.

So yes, this is in fact a religious war, and we better start treating it like a war, a war that we are planning to win using the military, and not treating it like a criminal or law enforcement matter.

So you think they will reopen the Tap line? For what.....Iran was looking to do that with Syria. Its not that much Oil.....in the grand scheme of things.

Right now.....whatever was in the Past. Is not what we are dealing with. Either way.....this has to be put down!

Nah. AQ is on the run and Bin Laden is dead.

Heya HB. :2wave: It looks like, since the Brits are saying something now. It still don't mean much to the rest out there.

We'll ignore it as best we can until it becomes a major event here. Then there'll be no turning back.

We are only vulnerable because of our weak President. Since taking the reigns for a second term, everyone in the world is walking all over Obama-Russia, China, Germany, Brazil, Japan (every important world power). They know how weak he is. The islamic militants do too. I have a bad feeling about the near future.

You said it is a religious problem and ergo it is the Pope's problem, or some Pope's, or the Dalai Lama, or the Rev. Al Sharpton or Rev. Jackson, eh?

Nah. AQ is on the run and Bin Laden is dead.

That one always makes me chuckle. It's Obama's "Mission Accomplished" moment.

Well.....that's why our media treats it as a spectator sport. Until that moment comes. Then the cries of horror.

It's made a turn for the worst. It's now everybody's problem.

Yeah. You know the routine. The French are busy right now, so everyone is riveted. It'll be old news tomorrow. It isn't here. Yet.
