Migrants attempt to board school buses in San Diego

Maybe they thought it was a Greg Abbot express that would take them to New York or some other sanctuary city. But seriously, a bunch of illegals trying to get on a bus that is taking MY child to school? How's your liberal utopia working out?

JAMUL, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — Two school bus routes within the Jamul-Dulzura Union School District have been briefly interrupted over the last two days after migrants attempted to board them, according to district officials.

In an emailed notice to families obtained by FOX 5/KUSI, Superintendent Liz Bystedt said a group of migrants attempted to board along the district’s A and B school bus routes.

The first incident occurred along the Route A route near the intersection of Highway 94 and Cochera Via Tuesday afternoon. According to Bystedt, a group of three men were walking in the middle of the highway trying to stop one of the buses, prompting it to “go around” the group.

A Route B school bus then came upon a group of about 20 people Wednesday morning as it was picking students up from the same stop, Bystedt said. Parents present at the site helped the bus driver ensure students were safe and that no one boarded the bus.

As the investigation proceeds, Bystedt added that “for the safety of students and bus drivers” buses will drive past stops with migrants nearby, heading directly to the next one on the route.

“Please stay [vigilant] and if the bus drives by, please follow the bus to pick up your child at the next stop,” she told families in the emailed notice.

Howe the **** is that supposed to work? The parents have to wait that the bus stops now? And maybe run after the bus if it just doesn't stop? Or you drive (assuming you even have your car) to the next stop, and maybe the next one and so on? You basically have to drive your child to school now.

Sounds like the district and towns in the district should invest in crossing guards or officers to monitor what is happening at bus stops 🤷‍♀️

Can you tell me why this should be a national story?


People disregard school bus safety issues regularly. In my town, it tends to be people driving through the “stop” lights/signs.

We addressed it by having officers sit in the area where this was occurring and handing out citations.

Jesus I would hope parents of the young kids in the story would be at the bus stop.

You know, considering it’s on the side of a highway and the woman was talking about her 8 year old.


Letting 8 year olds stand on a highway or walk along a highway by themselves strikes me as bad parenting choices.

If you bothered to watch the video you’d see this didn’t happen in the middle of a neighborhood, it happened at a stop along a highway.

This incident happened in a very rural town not far from the border. It's a national story because it's supposed to be about the kids.

What’s supposed to be “about the kids”?


I mean, to me? There’s nothing about having a bus stop on a highway that screams “good for kids” to start with.


But their district, their decision.


And can and should be handled locally.


It’s not a national story anymore than someone running the stop signs for buses is 🤷‍♀️

However, it is about migrants as well, the ones bringing drugs, crime and rape, so that angle should not be ignored.

If you knew the area, you'd be thinking differently about all the above. It's a very safe country bumpkin town, and they have a very low crime rate there. Plus, the kids' school buses have never been highjacked by migrants in the country without permission before. If your child was on that bus, I can trust that this would be a national news story!

It's pretty nice out there, and Jamul has a relatively new casino which is also pretty nice even though I don't gamble, saving all my luck for Trump.

Fairly rural area from the video, the migrants were probably thinking the bus was public transportation. It seems like it is something that would be easily fixed by the towns administrators.

It's clear they need more border patrol and policing in that particular area. Parents need to be assured that their children are safe on school buses both to and from school.

Is it a national story? It's making the rounds here in California. I didn't think it big enough for Breaking News (even though it meets the criteria), so I posted it here. Seems an appropriate venue

This is a rural area. They had a school official follow the bus. But that's not the point. The point is a group of 20+ illegals think they can just hop onto a school bus.
 
I can understand some worry but am thinking that signs explaining "school children only" would go a long way.
I suspect the migrants have to learn that concept. I could be wrong.
