Michigan Residents Could Face 5-Year Prison Sentence, $10,000 Fine for Using Wrong Pronouns

And yet these Michigan democrats in the legislature care nothing about average citizens feeling "terrorized, threatened, or frightened" in the streets of Detroit.

Feeling intimidated, and actually being intimidated are two different things. Feelings occur across a vast spectrum of subjectivity. Somebody calling a biological male a male who doesn't like it, that is not any kind of threat. So, unless these lawmakers are admitting that transgendered people are crazy, or incapable of adult sensibilities, then I don't see this law passing any judicial review.

Some democrats need to step up and bring their party back to sanity or risk losing elections.
Dude, we can't even talk about Rosa Parks now without some parent afraid little white Johnny or Jane is gonna feel terrorized by the color of their own skin. These parents are so comically butt hurt over actual history we're saddled with 24/7 news coverage of a southern Governor trying to restart Jim Crow. Pretty soon the education system is going to have a "Whites Only" and a "Colored Only" version of American history.

That's what is seriously comical about this. I just can't be bothered to feel sorry for a white child learning actual American history as if it's abuse--while those same people bemoaning the harm of a history class are now so faux outraged about a law against actual threats and terrorism.

Talk about clownish :)

LOL--the people who spend their days with their minds in the gutter dreaming up imaginary click-bait "alternative" media for the perpetually infantile, that's who.

Show me the court case, or start sending hate mail to the sources who betrayed your trust. Your choice :)
My apologies, I was under the impression that she was fired. Looks like she was put on leave, but it does look like someone is trying to have her license revoked.

Is it really your intention to compare Rosa Parks to all lunatic transgenders?

Talk about tone deaf!

Nope--just the silly idea that teaching Rosa Parks was a black activist in the civil rights movement is threatening and an act of terrorism.

The snowflake Republicans are melting, mellllltingggg, mellll....tingggggg......

Too funny! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

The bill criminalizes threats and terrorism.
How in the hell does using the wrong pronouns equal "terrorism"?

But what makes this absolutely hilarious is how many teachers have been fired, publicly demonized, and turned into political boogeymen for exercising their "free speech" to show a disney movie or read a child's picture book. Or how many undies get twisted for reading a book at a library because of the way they dress. Etc. etc. etc.
Depends on the book.

If it's that LGBT porno book Gender Queer, then you bet your ass someone should be fired, demonized and/or turned into a political boogeyman.

now she/them/those have done it! 10 grand means never use a pronoun
Democrats in the state's House of Representatives passed the bill, HB 4474, which would add "sexual orientation" and "gender identity or expression" as protected classes and criminalize causing a person to "feel terrorized, frightened, or threatened."

The bill advanced to the State Senate, where Democrats are expected to send it to Democratic governor Gretchen Whitmer, who would likely sign the legislation. If a victim says he or she is intimidated by another person and is a member of one of the protected classes, the accused person could spend five years in prison or pay a $10,000 fine

It's the latest example of the left pushing its views on gender identity on the public through legislation.

Democrats in California advanced legislation this month to consider a child's "gender affirmation" a part of his or her health, safety, and welfare when it comes to custody disputes, meaning parents who "affirm" their child's transgender status would be favored in a battle for custody.

Department of Health and Human Services assistant secretary Rachel Levine, a transgender doctor appointed by President Joe Biden, said this week that "gender-affirming care," including for minors, is "mental health care."

Book banners are very concerned about controlling language. Right.

At any rate, I'd bet that if there is any such law and if it passes, it will do nothing like your non-source and yourself are twisting it into.
