Michael Eisner comments on the Kimmel suspension

I would expect Eisner to subscribe and support the liberal narrative that this is about censoring and 1st amendment.

Only loons believe it, but there are a lot of loons.

I wonder if he would have said that if he was still in charge, because the intimidation seems to be working.

That's a very good question. The person in charge now is Bob Iger, a CEO I admire both for his leadership of Disney and his character.

We know Iger had to sign off on Kimmel's suspension. But we don't know how he feels about the decision as he's made no public statements on the matter.

Like all effective CEOs Iger is extremely protective of his corporation's brand image. That will be his priority and it trumps his personal feelings on the issue.

"He should do what's right" would be the challenge from most people. Well in the corporate world 'what's right' is what is beneficial for the corporation's stakeholders.

Only loons support the 1st?

If it isn't hypocritical it doesn't work in this disgusting politically charged cesspool.

It is more than a coincidence that the Kimmel suspension over rather mild comments seems to be tied to a pending merger approval from the FCC between Disney and Nexstar.

When a president is able to directly or indirectly affect a companies bottom line, expect them to be scared. Donald Trump will keep pushing until the congress and or the SC steps in to stop him.

Has anyone seen even one tiny sign that will ever happen?

Nope, and there it is: Sedition!

They may be headed your way, Allan, after they destroy the U.S., suck the wealth teat dry, and turn the citizens into penniless peasants.
They're already here. But they face some challenges.

First of all corporations can't make political campaign donations which greatly neuters their influence.

Second our 'Trump lite' (Pierre Poilievre) was humiliated in the last election. His party suffered the largest decline in polls in Canadian history and he lost his own seat.

His 'anti woke' messages didn't resonate with Canadians. Carney's poll numbers have actually improved since the election demonstrating that Canucks soundly support his centrist positions.

They'll have to find a way to dupe your citizenry. We are much more narrow minded and more easily duped people obviously. Plus, there's all that money to steal.
