Michael Brown appears to have paid for the cigars he was suspected of having stolen.
What’s more appalling is that the supposed robbery likely had nothing to do with the altercation between Wilson and Brown, as the video was not obtained until well after Brown had been shot and killed by Wilson.
It’s shameful that the Ferguson authorities would engage in such tactics. Even if Brown had robbed the convenience store, it is irrelevant to the circumstances of the shooting.
The punishment for petty theft isn’t death. The punishment for suspected petty theft isn’t death. What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty?

Does this look like footage of someone committing a crime?
This article makes a greater point, one that I think we can't afford to ignore. That point being there seems to be a consistent practice of people shooting unarmed young black men dead then the media demonizing them by creating a false narrative that draws from and perpetuates unfounded stereotypes and prejudices.
Sometimes I'm not sure which disgusts me more. The people who create these lies or the people who allow themselves to be distracted by them and lose sight of an obvious injustice.
Does anyone really believe that ALL of these stories of young unarmed black men being shot dead are BS? If so, I see that as a somewhat willing ignorance.

I agree, well put (as many times as I have opposed you it is only fair to express agreement when agreement exists). With all due respect, there is a police report on the robbery. If the shop owner had told the investigating officer that there was no robbery there wouldn't have been a report. Furthermore, Brown's attorney certainly wouldn't have confirmed the incident if there was any doubt.
Look, I understand the frustration with this incident. I understand that it can be painful to see an unarmed person killed. I understand that the lack of verifiable information regarding the incident inevitably leads to conjecture. What I can't understand though is how so many people can take that conjecture and internalize it as fact.
If he paid, why does the clerk basically chase Brown out of the door, and try to prevent him from leaving as was seen in the other video (1:20)?
Why does Brown shove the clerk out of the way and visibly rear up to intimidate him into submission?
He was involved in a borderline assault, if nothing else. It seems pretty clear that some wrongdoing on Brown's part provoked that situation.
Given the fact that he was willing to threaten and do physical violence to a store clerk half his size, I frankly don't doubt that he'd be willing and able to display similarly aggressive behavior towards a police officer either.
This was fully discussed and vetted out yesterday...

DP conclusion with a few exceptions, was there is nothing in the video showing he paid.
That would be interesting if I thought the DP was rife with objectively minded people. But since I don't...I don't really care what the DP consensus was or is
I was specifically addressing the accusation of theft.
As for what you "read" between the lines about this young mans character based on what you see here. That's you perception not fact and it seems informed by something other than what is actually known.
Neither one of us knows what provoked the confrontation between these two men do we? Maybe the clerk suspected him of something and accused him aggressively? You think just because the clerk is small that means he could not possibly have been the one who started the problem?

Interesting to note, it wasn't the attendant, store manager or clerk who called the cops, it was a customer who told cops that they thought they witnessed a robbery.Michael Brown appears to have paid for the cigars he was suspected of having stolen.

No one has ever said it does.I have been advocating against the Ferguson police and for Mr. Brown throughout the entire process, but this truly shows no evidence of him paying. Honestly, the video is irrelevant. No matter if he stole cigars or not, that does not justify killing him.
