I'm with you. She's married to a monster, but she's only guilty by association to a limited extent. She's always been gracious and polite and dignified whenever I've seen her, so she gets my well wishes.
I care less about those things, and more about results of actions.
IMO Donald Trump's actions will have long-lasting negative effects that we'll have to work hard to reverse, whereas Melania Trump hasn't really done much negative except be married to Trump (I'm assuming that's a negative) and give him some extremely limited legitimacy as a result.
I would frankly be OK with Trump's style if he wasn't such a complete ass and incapable of using that to benefit the country rather than himself.
Plus he seems to be some form of racist and bigoted, which doesn't help.
Granted this is only news because she's married to the President. All this compassion for a rich lady yet people by the millions have worse things happening to them daily. Think me classless but I cant be bothered with crap like this. Not when I have my own actual friends and family to worry about.
There has been a lot of chatter in this forum lately about how any criticism of the president is a symptom of hatred toward him or "TDS" or any variation of those things. So, while I won't be complimenting him for anything, I do wish the First Lady a full and speedy recovery from this surprise (to the public) surgery.
"'This morning, first lady Melania Trump underwent an embolization procedure to treat a benign kidney condition. The procedure was successful, and there were no complications,' the first lady's communications director, Stephanie Grisham, said in a statement."

What is a benign kidney condition? It makes me think of a bad UTI that spreads to the kidneys. She is young to be seriously ill. I hope she's ok.
either. both very classy first ladies who did wonders for the country. then it went severely down hill for 8 years. now its back to having a wonderful first lady who is in need of our positive thoughts as she undergoes this surgery.
speedy recovery mrs trump!
Granted this is only news because she's married to the President.
But you still can be glad someone is no longer ill.
While simultaneously wishing the healthcare system was better and everyone had access to that level of care.
Right on cue, cuban. I recommend you read the earlier posts related to class.
I heard it reported on the news.
The official word is that it was a "benign" surgical procedure. What the hell is a benign surgical procedure? Did it involve general anesthesia? If so, it wasn't benign.
We've all heard of benign conditions, most often tumors, warts, and other growths, but not benign surgical procedures because all of them carry risk.
For what malady was she operated on? Why are spokespersons refraining from simply saying what was/is wrong with her kidney? What is it with the Trump Admin. that they can't just issue a simple statement of fact that informs the public accurately and completely?
Mrs. Trump has no official government role, but she's the First Lady. People are concerned about her. This is health issue and a kidney isn't exactly a "sensitive to discuss" organ. Betty Ford, for example, had a mastectomy while she was First Lady and the whole world knew it because the WH told them so.
In response to Holbritter's post...That would be because it is none of your business.
Her health issues are hers and hers alone.
Why would you think you are entitled to know every detail about her health care?
Maybe it was her request to keep it quiet. Why so upset?
