Mr. Trump earned $400 million worth of free media last month, about what John McCain spent on his entire 2008 presidential campaign. Paul Senatori, mediaQuant’s chief analytics officer, says that Mr. Trump “has no weakness in any of the media segments” — in other words, he is strong in every type of earned media, from television to Twitter.
Over the course of the campaign, he has earned close to $2 billion worth of media attention, about twice the all-in price of the most expensive presidential campaigns in history. It is also twice the estimated $746 million that Hillary Clinton, the next best at earning media, took in. Senator Bernie Sanders has earned more media than any of the Republicans except Mr. Trump...
A more skeptical Republican electorate would ask, “Why?” Why are television media institutions usually hostile to Republicans suddenly going ga-ga and obsessing over every word the GOP front-runner says? Why are they so eager to cover his rallies live? Why do they allow him to call in to the Sunday shows? Why do they have “town hall meetings” with softball questions? Why are his prime-time press conferences aired live and then dissected by a team of analysts?
Is it because these television producers, anchors and programming directors have suddenly come to appreciate his call for a border wall, deportation of all illegal immigrants and a ban on Muslim immigration? Or is it because they think he confirms every negative stereotype of the conservative movement and Republican Party, and that he’ll get demolished in a general election, and he’ll take a lot of Congressional Republicans down with him?
Unfortunately, this is going to teach a lesson to future candidates. Act like a moron, get on TV. Get on TV, get name recognition, earn a core of voters. Core of voters, success.
Anywho, for anyone who doubts that Trump is largely a media creation:

I don't think the Trump message is anywhere near the message you are promulgating.
Trump's saying what the silent majority has been aching to hear.
People think Trump a straight talker, one willing to go up against the fat cat insiders in both the public and private sectors,
People want an outsider to come in a mix it up, good, real good.
When someone asks Trump about illegal immigration, he blurts out "Build a Wall." That's simple, straightforward and people like that, even if they don't think he can build that wall -- which he probably can't.
People are tired of candidates sugarcoating issues and they're especially tired of feeling as though the US is not respected as much as it once was. Trumps' "Make America Great Again" is the very thing they want. They want a chance to preserve part of a national identity that they feared was lost.
Its not really working for Vermin Supreme.Unfortunately, this is going to teach a lesson to future candidates. Act like a moron, get on TV. Get on TV, get name recognition, earn a core of voters. Core of voters, success.

Yeah yeah yeah. I will just wait and believe the election day polls, thanks anyway. Over the Hillary hardly even out debates BS, the puffball, Sanders. No he hasn't. In fact, Trump now has a higher unfavorable rating than any presidential candidate that Gallup has ever polled. The "silent majority" you claim is (currently) 30% of the country, and is (currently) being rejected by 63% of the country. The majority of this nation don't want Trump, which is why he is currently also losing to Hillary Clinton (Hillary Clinton) 51 to 38.
Who of the two, Trump and Over the Hillary, is more responsible for the state of our education system? Between the two, Over the Hillary and Trump, who has earned more of their fatcatedness with their own hard work? Of the two, who is the bigger liar? Of the two, who is more likely to get indicted? Then that confirms my opinion of our public education system. Trump is a demonstrated and continuous liar, who has demonstrated over the course of his lifetime that he is a fat cat in both public and private sectors, and he has stated he intends to govern that way. And people seem unable to put two and two together.
Either way that's gonna happen. But brilliant observation. So they're gonna hire an insider. Brilliant move.

Will be fun to watch the cage match between Trump and Hill. Trump swinging and over-the-Hillary ducking, weaving flashing that big disingenuous smile with all the cameras rolling on her. She has just so much more material to attack against. Just might have to go pay per view on that, though.

No, it's because he moves the ratings needle. This really isn't hard to figure out, though it does goes against the persecution complex some have.Is it because these television producers, anchors and programming directors have suddenly come to appreciate his call for a border wall, deportation of all illegal immigrants and a ban on Muslim immigration? Or is it because they think he confirms every negative stereotype of the conservative movement and Republican Party, and that he’ll get demolished in a general election, and he’ll take a lot of Congressional Republicans down with him?
Well, as your are wrong again, you might become that constant even more consistent. I am not a Trump fan, not a Trump detractor, either. Between him and anybody on the other side, he is the much better. Just telling it like I see it. This isn't math, you were talking about polls. Lots of factors besides math in polls. Lots..
There have been few constants so consistent in this race as the insistence by Trump fans that math doesnt count.
At least a third of the electorate will hold him unfavorable no matter what, they are on a different team. That leaves less than 15% as his true unfavorables. This 15%+- are less ideological and I have no doubt, when they start to actually pay attention, and its down to him and over the hillary, they wont be putting a check mark next to the lesser Clinton name. Maybe if she changed her name to Bill she might win. Heck, I couldn't stand Trump at all until after I have kind of gotten used to him. Still don't love him, but my god, the alternatives on the other side? After we have suffered through these last 7 going on 8 feels like a hundred in prison, years? C'mon.Trump is seen as Strongly Unfavorable by 50+% of the populace. That's BEFORE a BILLION dollars gets dropped on him.
Previous to this reply I thought I might be having a discussion with a rational person.Hillary, Hillary, Very Close, but Trump by a hair, and Somewhat Close but Hillary by a little.
Cruz is my man, and he is the least of the insiders still really viable in the race.... But I don't think you can consider him an outsider. Ben Carson would have been the most with Cruz then Trump, coming at it from different angles, ... depending on how you define insider..Well, no. Cruz could still win. We will see.
Or Kanye.True. You need some name-recognition to get you there first. Perhaps one of the Kardashians can run in 2020. That'll be fun.
..... okay. Think about that for a second.
